He isnt going anywhere we know this😅 and besides going forward miami isnt gonna be the destination thats attractive from a competition pov. Theres gonna be better teams that can sway him and to top it off we have NO ASSETS TO GET HIM. Unless you trade Jimmy and flip some return assets elsewhere to gain some longterm pieces this team is absolutely screwed.
Theyre forced to make the playoffs in a east that just upgraded while being the 8 seed 2 yrs ina row. If they miss the playoffs, they dont pay jimmy= jimmy walks.
Missing the playoffs mean you keep your 2025 1st from okc. HOWEVER okc gets a unprotected 2026. Missing the postseason is disastrous, but losing in the 1st rd still means jimmy walks.
To top it off if you dont trade jimmy and he leaves, youll be even worse going into 2026 which is guaranteeing okc a top 12 pick. Then because of the terry trade, your 2027 is lotto protected and if you dont make the playoffs then charlotte gets an unprotected 2028 1st!!. You'll literally be forced to flip bam by then to recoup post 2027 before he decides to leave (justifiably so.)
I have been a Heat fan since they came in existence when I was just 13 but of Drew Smith has any substantial playing time I will stop being a Heat fan!

I’m not looking to Fox to get this team over the hump. I’m digging the mindset and commitment that Terry and Tyler are bringing into this season. I don’t want some high usage guard coming in to take over the offense. That’s what the Heat needed when they spend 98% of their possessions in half court.
I do think the Heat should consolidate at some point this season because they are actually too deep, but Fox isn’t so much better than Terry to get me on this train.
The Fox comments make less than zero sense and demonstrate a total fantasy mindset. You won't go all in on him because he's not a top ten player? How on earth do the Heat plan to acquire a top ten player then? The Knicks just traded 6 FRPs for Mikael Bridges. Gobert went for a similar value. You think you're getting Giannis or Luka for the 1FRP the Heat have to trade and Duncan Robinson? If the Heat had literally any chance in hell of getting a player like Fox they absolutely have to do it. The only other way to get top tier talent is by playing the ping pong balls which the Heat and fanbase clearly are against as well. I hate this fairy tale mindset where the best players in the league are just going to magically fall into their lap, it's exhausting.
You might be a little premature in saying that the starting lineup has been established. I believe the fifth starter is still up in the air until preseason is over. Great work guys, keep it up.
