He clearly a more effective threat rolling to the basket. But he had that mind boggling behind the back turnover and his defense and rebounding doesn’t seem better than Sims. I don’t see him breaking the rotation much outside of injuries. More of a down the line player.

He does have 4 fouls like like 10 minutes of play
Patty-O-Chair
I’m down with Dark Hartenstein

His strength is defense and rebounding but he needs to learn how to play nba defense

Aaaaaaandyy
Yeah I mean I haven’t seen Sims do much of anything since he’s been here. I’d much rather give this kid some minutes to see if he can hang when we’ll eventually need him at some point this season.

He’s a better basketball player, bottom line. Sims may be a better athlete but can’t figure out basketball timing if his life depended upon it

He can catch passes!!! My biggest takeaway

He looks like Deandre Ayton’s older brother to me🤣
Nervous_Fill_8336
2 way him
the_excalibruh
At least he tries, Sims just seems so lethargic
Hukporti gotta make those free throws tho

I was at the game tonight. His ability to catch the ball in traffic is everything.
My issue with him is he can’t hit a fucking free throw. Him and Sims did not look good. I like him better than Sims but he was rough out there.
BigHornStareDown
His footwork is way better, and looks like he’s willing to sacrifice himself

I told y’all! Been on #HokpurtiHive since we drafted him. Watched tape right after that, learned about his story and why he didn’t make it into the NBA earlier (TL;DR untimely injury that had him out an entire year), and really liked him. Obviously not trying to say he should get major minutes, but I like him for eating up those Sim minutes. And if guys go down, I feel MUCH better about putting him out there for extended minutes than freaking Sims. Sims been in the league for a few years now and he’s TRASH unfortunately. Hasn’t grown and shows no sign to have any potential to grow. Hokpurti is a rookie at 22 years old – same age as the guys going four years in college and a whole three years younger than Sims. Difference is he’s been a pro overseas for years so he should be ready from a physicality standpoint. Already has an offensive bag that could maybe improve more. Sims has ZERO offensive bag. And he’s meh on defense too.

Haven’t seen him play but I too already like this guy over sims.
