Like I said. Native New Yorkers don’t say bodega. Never really did. We always refer to them as “the corner store” or just “the store”. We never say, “let’s go to the bodega” or “I’m going to the bodega, you want something?” We just say “store”.. Delis are a different story. We will say that we’re “at the deli” or “that deli on Castle Hill Ave. has the best baconeggandcheese”.. lol.. Where YOU been? You a transplant or something?? Haha..
