Honestly even if this is a pre season game just take a minute to remember this. We did this without Barrett and Quickley. Just imagine adding those we can squeeze in as the 8th seed this year I like this team.

This year is about building for future I don't care how many they win it's about seeing what this young core can do getting playing time for bench to find if we got a diamond on the bench about getting that top Pic just think next year we could have are next Vince Carter, Chris bosh,t-mac,Barnes go raptors loose for Cooper
I don't fully understand who has to be on the roster to start the season, particularly when you get way down the bench (spots 12-15). I'd rather see Shead start in the 905 to get some playing time, maybe even Mogbo too as he doesn't look NBA ready. Carlson and Battle have been looking solid and I hope we can keep both. I'm excited to see what this team can do when healthy, and Grady has been playing great so far.
The reason we won the game was rebounding and controlling the glass. Fernando had 7 rebounds a lot of what he did isn’t reflected in the box score. Battle was there for garbage minutes. Fernando was more of an impact on the win than Battle.
I was at this game. Dick looked really good and Barnes was going completely ape shit on defence it was crazy the effort he was putting in on that end. Also the Raptors bench is atrociously bad

I am a BATTLE BOOSTER , I do think his shooting should give him the inside track to win the final roster spot. It is good to have a big man like Fernando around BUT shooting has always been our issue. If Darko works with Carlson he may be the backup of the future. He needs to put on some pounds. MOGBO makes our 31st pick with what was available look really bad. He is not good and will need to go to the G league.

ogbo is a 2nd round pick in a “generationally weak” draft. Claimed as one of the worst drafts ever. And he was picked 31. And people are complaining already? In pre season? He’s just coming out of college, going against fkin Jason Tatum, Jaylen brown, Derrick white. They are the defending champs. Some people need to just shut the fk up. Honestly.

On Battle, I could have sworn he was one those 10day guys for the Raps last season. I just feel like I remember him beyond his July signing. But I guess not.

Scottie is expected. Grady is the surprise. This time last year we thought we had a JJ reddick type that would need a little time. 1 year later – we see he’s actually a Gordon Hayward type that needs about the same amount of time – and was a draft steal.
I’m not sold on Mogbo he’s a 3 and D sized player with active hands and motor. You can’t develop height and size and he’s too small to be a credible big man. But he can probably be a PJ Tucker type in time. On the 2nd unit that’s of value because Olynk from a night to night basis is going to be the 6th man. So there’s minutes to be had and lockdown moments he’s needed once he becomes reliable.
Ochai we can see / Jacoby we have to rely on old footage as he’s out – look like they can develop into Demar types. They need time though. And the 2nd unit will have that for both of them with Mitchell keeping them steady.
Grady is all star by next season mark it. Raps are a season away from competing for playoff and possible all in pickup to push over top.
