“In a good way, some of them are really impressive and inspiring in the way they approach the game every night. But others that I used to like, now it’s like I’m just not sure they deserve it. Like they don’t seem like they put as much work in as I thought.”

I like the mind games this could start, but the fun part is that there’s a handful of stars this could apply to.
DeMar said the same thing a few months ago on a podcast
I’m just gonna guess this is about Embiid. Could be wrong though
He just gave ESPN stuff to talk about for the next week lol
I appreciate Wemby being real here but not sure it’s something that needed to be said.
I saw someone mention Ant in another thread and i feel like that makes sense considering what he did at the Rising Stars game and how it annoyed Wemby. He’s definitely a hard worker outside of basketball though.
Put em on notice Vic
to me this reads like one of those “never meet your heroes” statements. He grew up idolizing them, but then once he met them, they weren’t the same as he built them up in his head. 100% fair statement to make. Putting in the work (vs just relying on natural ability) is absolutely a thing worthy of respect and admiration, and when you see that difference up close and in person, I imagine it’s a shock to the system. Wild to see someone actually say it, but good for him.
its bem simmons guys that guy had all the tools the gift and he didnt improve his game
Hi James!
Iverson “we talking about practice!?”
I do appreciate how much he respects the game.
