Gueye been on that De’Andre Hunter off season regimen 😂😂😂

If Quin doesn’t play Kobe 30 minutes tomorrow we will riot. Let the young man learn.

Forcing a team to play a Road B2B in the fucking preseason is some absolutely braindead shit from the NBA and I hope they don’t do that to ANY team in the future. Especially as close to the regular season. Proud of the Hawks for playing their dudes for a half and then throwing the G-league squad out there. 0 reason to give any sort of credibility to this. It’s preseason, just cancel the game instead of forcing a team to have to travel on a road B2B for a meaningless game.

Yeah, I’m heated about it. It’s fucking stupid. Not like we did anything to force the game to be rescheduled, why force us to make a decision between resting our guys for the B2B or taking it somewhat seriously.

Forcing a team on a road B2B in the preseason is a truly awful decision.

  4. Jalen looked like a world beater, Dyson hit his open 3’s.  All I care about from this game.

Great first half & opening to the third .. don’t really care about what the rest of the game looked like , Kobe played well in the 4th which is a great sign

Dyson is the best defender we’ve had in a long time. His IQ and communication on that end of the floor effects the whole team. He could go scoreless for a game and still be one of our most impactful players. I know it’s preseason, but dude looks like a generational perimeter defender.

It’s pretty clear Kobe is only going to get better with guys who can swing the ball at the 2 and 3. Tonight was rough for him partly because he played a lot of minutes with Dyson and Garrison on the floor together.

Put Vit and Risacher/Jalen beside him and he’ll develop much better.

Well our actual Backup pg is hurt right now so heal up quickly Nikola

Usually, I would be raging mad, but I like the Jalen + Trae = the one-two punch. Much better than Trae + DJM. I feel this team will be a 2nd half of the season for the team.

This is where once everyone has finally gotten used to the plays and each other, the team should just have long winning streaks.

I think we can hover around .500 for the 1st half of the season.

  10. Dyson Daniels: Was solid in general. Scored 9 points on 3/7 shots. All three makes were threes in which he took 6. He played off the other players decently. He missed two free throws which is unacceptable. Defensively I thought he was fine. He had a few good possessions on Alec Burks and Rozier. Took a charge in the 2nd on a Tyler Hero drive. Grade: B-

Jalen Johnson: Jalen Johnson was excellent with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists on 8/9 shooting. This three point stroke looked great. He hit a contested one that looked good. He had a highlight poster on Duncan Robinson. He had 4 turnovers which was talked about in Hawks circles but I think it’s reasonable if he’s gonna be our second best player and produce. I think there were some points where his handle looked questionable in the half court. I felt he was best when there was ball movement and he was able to drive off a pass. Grade: A

David Roddy: It was a mixed bag for David. 15 points on 5/15 including ⅙ from three. A highlight was when he used his frame to muscle Bam out of the way for a layup. I liked his ability to drive. I thought he passed the ball ok enough. The main swing skill for him is shooting and ⅙ is concerning. On top of that most of his three point opportunities were pretty open catch and shoots. He has to make shots if he even wants a chance to be a rotation player in the NBA. Could be good in spurts. Grade: C-

Vit Krecji: 5 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists. He had a couple of highlight passes earlier in the game and he facilitated ball movement as a starter. He did have three turnovers. I don’t think it was too bad. Wasn’t good as a shooter tonight and made ¼ shots. He got into foul trouble early with 3 in the first quarter. Ended the game with 5. OK performance. Grade: C

Trae Young: 10 points and 7 assists on ⅗ shooting. He looked like Trae and when he and Jalen were playing the team looked good. He and JJ were the only positive +/- players in the 1st and 2nd rotation. He cut back on the turnovers and only has 2. He was cruising really. Grade: B

Kobe Bufkin: Kobe had 15 on 4/9 shooting. He was cold in the first half on offense. However he looked solid in other areas. I thought the passing was fine and the defense was fine. He played better in the second half and went 4/8 and ⅓ from three. He did a great job at getting to the line and went 6/6. Keep in mind most of the second half performance was against second and third string lineups. Overall he was mid but showed flashes. Grade: B-

Larry Nance: was meh. 4 points, 4 rebounds on 2/7 shooting. He missed all 3 three point attempts. He missed a couple of dunk attempts as well. Was decent at passing. Grade: C-

Garry Bird: 9 points on 3/6 shooting and ⅗ from three. He made his three pointers which is all you can ask for. Grade: B+

Mo G: 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist on ⅙ shooting and ⅓ from three. He came in the game and made a three immediately. Otherwise it wasn’t very memorable for him. I guess he defended a little better without fouling. There was also a possession where he couldn’t score in the post on a mismatch. Still needs development. Being 6’11 and only getting 2 rebounds in 21 minutes is concerning. Grade: D-

Ke’von Harris: scored 13 points on 4/9 shooting. Wasn’t paying attention to the game as much by the time he was playing. More than I expected from him so I’ll give him an A.

See y’all tomorrow against OKC. Hopefully Zach plays and we get some Dominic Barlow.

JJ is that dude. I’m ready for him to start getting recognition from outside Atlanta
