[Haynes] Sources: Philadelphia first-round pick Jared McCain experienced pulmonary contusions from last night’s fall vs. Brooklyn. He’s been discharged from hospital and is home resting. Will be re-evaluated today for concussion but there’s optimism the rookie avoided a serious injury.

For those who don’t know, a pulmonary contusion is basically a bruise on the lung. So he definitely lucked out because it could have been way worse. Hopefully he recovers quickly!

had this happen to me in a high school hockey game. it was absolutely brutal when it happened, it sucks, and going to the hospital was for sure the right move. it’s generally a pretty quick recovery time, so here’s to hoping he’s not in pain too much longer.
Too many people were preoccupied with ‘Sixers being cursed’ when it was reported he was going to hospital, but fuck that, I hope he gets better soon and takes the time needed to rest and heal first and foremost.

Took a lacrosse ball to the rib/lung area when soaking a shot. Hurt like hell for a day or two, then was uncomfortable. All and all, this is good news.

He had six boards again. He is fearless and plays really hard. He makes rookie errors but I really like his attitude and think he has a role to play on this team. I’m glad I can stop continually checking for updates on him today. Definitely had me worried.
