  1. It’s so close I can almost taste it…

    1️⃣8️⃣ going up, 1️⃣9️⃣ on deck! ☘️LFG☘️

  2. Loving that our starting 5 are all in the top 50! 🍀🍀🍀 not to mention old man Horford still getting up there in the top 100 even though he is nearing 40.

  3. Our 5 starters occupy 10% of the top 50 spots. But since there are 30 teams, this reminds everyone how stacked Boston is as the C's are disproportionately represented in the Top Tier. 💚

  4. I was critical of Joe myself in the past but I am not sure how the other coaches receive a pass. The Celtics are an amazing team but so were the Warriors, Nuggets, Heat, etc. Most of these supposed “great” coaches actually had great teams. So if they are ranked high, so should he.

Joe has taught the Celtics to close games and he is a genius at turning the bench into pure gold. Our whole bench definitely owe their success to Joe. He was good at that right off the bat which is what made me confident in the bench although everyone was saying that the bench was weak.

  5. I just think it's funny that KP is 11 behind Rudy Gobert (who went WAY up the list this year. For what?). Ask Brad Stevens if he agrees.

And I love Wemby, think he's great and will be the best player in the league in 2, 3 or 4 years, but Jesus, Joseph and Mary, the impetuous, unadulterated FAWNING over him in this list (and subsequent columns) is nausea-inducing. ESPN makes the list, puts him #11 (higher than AD and Jaylen. Really?) and THEN proceeds to have several of its columnists opine he's probably "too low." While endlessly citing his POTENTIAL. Um, sorry, what happened to it being about where they are NOW? Soon, there will be full service sites that simply mock ESPN as their central purpose. And they should. In another 3 years, 93% of all ESPN content will be gambling, fantasy, idiotic polls, and the lion's share of the world's dumbest hot takes. Actual sports? Somewhere… maybe. If you live in Europe and follow cricket.

  6. John: an idea before the season starts: in-depth on the C's player development. How they mined and manufactured a quality bench, largely in-house, and what they may be doing better/differently than other teams.

  7. Joe took a team that hadn’t gotten over the hurdle of being champions and had a historically good season and cruised to the championship. The team never let down. Not in the regular season or playoffs. The end was never in doubt. That’s coachjng coaching.

    The players play for him.

    They showed up hungry.

The Jays are the opposite of complacent they look ready to bury teams.

The first second and third string play during preseason.

It’s obvious he makes a difference.

Could he make a mediocre team good ? Idk 🤷‍♂️ maybe but who cares.

He’s perfect for these folks. 🍀🍀🏀🏀🍀🍀

And the players and Joe are a group of decent folks that are fun to cheer on. It’s refreshing.

  8. Sounds like excuses being made for spo he def isn’t the best coach in the league he def shouldn’t be in front of someone who just beat him on its way to winning a finals and he gets no luv? It is wut it is

  9. Tatum had to rack up an impressive resume to finally crack top 5 (in the media) but SGA is in after a couple deep playoffs runs 😐. They’re the same age btw

  10. Our dream here has to be to see Prichard and sam dig into top 100. With 1 of our back up bigs. Then we lose AL Porzing.. white.. somehow get under the cap with holiday brown Tatum. I know we promised holiday we would not trade him late in his career and stay loyal for his kids. Go under that cap for 1 year then pay Prichard sam and 1 center well bring in another top 50 go over cap for Tatum and browns 2nd run at a tittle. Or they end up trading 1 or both for a full rebuild well see

  11. I don’t get the SGA thing. The whole narrative is that he carried a bad team, but that team is not bad. They have some incredible players. So I think that’s pretty disrespectful to the rest of the thunder. He is a great player, but is he really better than Tatum? Luca Jalen just aggravates me after seeing Jaylin Expose him in the finals, but whatever. Points supersede overall play on both sides of the court.

  12. Mazzulla not being on the radar is for the same reason Spo wasn't until he won a championship–as I remember, in his 4th season. NO ONE gets into the club by season 2; not universally. If they win again this year, you'll see that change in next year's polls–the rest of the nation's press will start falling in love with his quirks the way they did with Joe Maddon in baseball.

  13. ESPN top 100 is always questionable at best. But I won’t quibble about where the C’s are. Except JB. He should be top 10 for sure. Also, I’ve been saying Mazulla is one of the best coaches in the league. He has a chance to be one of the greats if they continue to win. I hate when people say Celtics would be better with Ime. He had his chance. Joe got it done.
