I fear Franz is going to end up like Simmons and that the team won't go anywhere unless they get him help or get rid of him. He plays like the issues are mental rather than skills based so let's hope it works out.
Coming from someone who has been around sports in pro and collegiate environments, I can spot a burnout player a mile away. it is actually quite obvious to my eyes that Franz is suffering from burnout, both physically and mentally. He's played AN INSANE amount of basketball over the 2.5 years between his pro team and international team. We should remember that he is also the main guy in Germany also playing lots of minutes under tons of pressure. In fact, both Wagner brothers looked completely out of sorts and fatigued. Training staff will have to find spots in season to get these guys some rest. The bad news is that if they don't get rest, injuries will soon follow.
