i like Gortman, but I need him to be a five-star athlete and he will be the next Jallen Brunson for this team. I give him 2 years before he ends up starting or busting and being traded. Great potential and he's young Could you imagine having a jallen brunson type player back on this team???

I don’t know if JG ever played college ball did he? For Kidd to say he was terrible in SL is very telling of what Kidd might be seeing in him from a preseason aspect. That youngster must be really impressive in practice. Sharpe probably sucked in practice and the Mavs figured he was not worth the investment.
Dont get me wrong. Here or there a 2 way guy becomes a legit rotation player for a good team… specially if you play for the Heat. BUT I dont care about Gortman, or anyone else who gets a 2 way… none of them will play any role on the roster. Unless you think we will have tons of injuries… If one of the 2 way guys balls out, great. Maybe he can get a roster spot next season. Wont happen this year. They will play in the G-League, and I dont care about the G-League…
He's going to be a great player and just needs more time to develop as well. We have a great coaching team.
Immediately clicked to confirm Gortman was signed!! This rotation going to be tuff for Kidd, we are so damn deep. Like everyone can't play. Dinwiddie or Hardy? Maxi or Gortman/O-Max? Grimes and Marshall getting at least 15+ a game. Lively/Gafford getting 20+ Stupid deep
Gortman is a smooth operator! I would be surprised if he doesn't eventually fight his way into the rotation. Kidd knows what's up, he'll find a way to play him.
Hardy was also 5 star…bad research
That’s interesting that Kidd said he looked bad in Summer League… might show that he’s got the grit that it takes to not back down from failure, because what I saw from him in preseason was extremely impressive. He was playing like a veteran out there and made better plays than some of the roster guys. Cough cough Spencer Dinwiddie 😂

Gortman is a smooth operator. No need to ask. LOL seriously he is very athletic and has multiple moves to finish at the hoop with a consistent outside jumper. Sharp has put in work to strengthen his body. You can tell the difference from Summer league preseason.

Wish we had kept Sharpe. How in the world can you release a young very very tall shot blocker with great upside yet keep Morris & Powell that gives you zero production and are both at the end of their careers. We say how great Nico and Kidd are???? Sure hope this doesn't prove to be a terrible decision 3 to 4 years from now. I think Gortman earned his spot. He and Hardy were the highlights of our preseason. Now the big questions not answered, 1. How bad is Lukas injury really? 2. SD was simply terrible. 3. Exum, Maxi & Edwards injuries.
How do you keep Dwight Powell and get rid of Sharp and he’s a true shot blocker center that they need !!! Wow so dumb not smart Powell should have been let go this season !!! Not smart Mavs keeping Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell not smart !!! Something’s wrong with this picture how in the world you keeping those guys when they were apart of the problem being soft and a waste of time and money 💰 Damarion Sharpe is a keeper a true shotblocker with great feet potential wow Mavs that’s dumb for real wow 🤯
