I'd say what they are obviously doing is creating an excuse to load manage him so that they don't get any penalty from the league. Missing game 1 or the first week is a great excuse. You can always just say the knee injury is flaring up as an excuse to sit him. I don't actually think he is injured. This is also why I think they don't come out and say what it is. The moment they tell the truth is the moment the league holds them to some kind of time table or accountability.
Also, Embiid played great in the playoffs and in the Olympics. He doesn't even need to jump, and jumping for chase down blocks is stupid anyway. He get's like 3 inches off the ground for his jumper anyway. He will be fine.
I don’t mind seeing what supporting cast will do for a few games.
And that's exactly why it is idiotic for Joel to play like a guard rather than a big man. When you put the ball on the floor like he does, legs will crash and knees will bump.
I’m ngl I think their treating embiid like Kawhi so we should get used to him sitting most of the season, they tried to play him last year and it look like it made things significantly worse with his knees.
The only thing that pumps me up about sixers is Maxey's progression
everytime kendrick perkins open his mouth I cringed, the reality is that knicks team last year is way better than now.. sold their future by giving a million of draft picks in mikal and og.. these 2 are high level role players not superstars to give assets like that, they let go of hartenstein, divo, and julius to acquire a kitty cat.. somehow it feels like the grittiness and nastiness has lost its ny basketball identity.. boston, bucks, and philly obviously ahead of them because they got superstars.. knicks very overrated.. they should have kept that team last yr because they achieved something special
Tonight vs the Bucks, and vs Pacers…not winnable without Embiid and PG…the franchise guys sitting can sometimes infuse some energy into the next men up, and they shock a better team.
That not withstanding, I can't see Milwaukee and Indy as wins. At Raptors…this is the kind of game that will validate the Maxey hype. Supporting cast plays better at home. Detroit has to be a win (barring revenge from Tobias 😂).
Who care what little Eskin says? He should stick to his role as King of poopy butt puzzles.

Re: Embiid. I think he reinjured or tweeked something during the Playoffs or Olympics. Either Mgmt didn't to verify his health status or he didn't indicate it to anyone around then. So when he comes into training camp and the situation of his health was detected and was determined as not good..
Whoever brought tickets for tonight's game should get a partial refund. That shit is crazy. Also it time to trade Joel. It was fun while it lasted, but it is time to build around Tyrese

Its better to look forward to Tyrese Maxey and what he can do. What the big question is, will the NBA give him his just due on foul calls. Or will they still keep him from ascending into the player he worked so hard for by allowing teams to hit him at will without a call.

Joel Embiid isnt cooked. He has always hated back to backs even when he was healthy. He was always lethargic after he went for a 40 or 50 piece. He plays the game of a small forward in a centers' body and he refuses to just stand under the basket and punish people. He has said in countless times that the post game isnt how the game is played today. He wants to be remembered as a "modern big man" even tho his body isnt built for it. He is built like a old school center. But he wants to throw his body all over the place and not sit under the basket and wait to block shots. Or sit in the post and punish guys that he is twice as big as. Because the image of him playing like a guard is more memorable. If he cant win the title the way he wants, he wont.
You have to be confident! You can’t start telling the truth until the playoffs are over! Folks don’t come to your page to hear the truth about the Sixers!
