Paolo Banchero finished with a team-high 33 points along with 11 rebounds and 4 three pointers for the Magic, while Franz Wagner tallied 23 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in the game. Terry Rozier recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The Magic improve their record to 1-0 with the win, while the Heat fall to 0-1 for the season.

This game proved that Eric Spo has yet to learn or adapt a new offensive system. It’s all “high screen and rolls” and “dribble hand offs.” What an ugly 3rd qrtr. High Screen and Rolls are worthless if you don’t use the roller, all the while no one else is moving. Just a bunch of set shot-bricks, after bricks, after bricks. No post plays, no back door cuts, off ball screens, nothing! Dribble Hand Offs and High Screen and Rolls. Another season looms where we only win when our defense makes a difference, because this style of offense is set up for failure, and will not keep up with a team scoring 115+
