He's been the biggest issue for the suns since last season.
The only reason he plays is because he's the best option the suns have.
But when you compare him to the rest of the Leagues centers he's really not a good one.
The susn needed a young athletic center to make up for the lack of perimeter defense and possibly for some rolls to the rim on offense.
Basically every good team abuses nurkic in the pick and roll and gets him run out the floor.
Literally every game against the lakers thst he has played has been in this way. LeBron just attcks him in late game situations and the suns don't have a competent center so they are incapable of defending even if he's not on the court. It's not just the lakers it's basically any good team with good guard play.
Boston, kings, mavs, OKC, anda few more. Just go watch the games from last season
I said this last year as soon as they traded for him. It was a stupid choice and as long as he was on the team the suns were not winning anything.
He's not the only issue. Having 3 non defensive guards on the floor is also part of the problem but right now nurkic isnthe biggest issue and easiest to fix.
If you really want to get this team somewhere you have to trade kd or booker and nurkic.
Ideally it would be beal but you're stuck with him.
Get yourself someone like claxton and dort and a caruso and this team would be so much better.
This team is beyond flawed. We’re light years away from being true contenders. Suns need to tear it down. Start the rebuild. Trade with rockets and get our picks back

Mavs fan here… I watched most of the game last night, and Nurkic was terrible… but the Suns also looked pretty awful when they went small late in the game and couldn't secure a rebound to save their lives. I don't know what the answer is, but Phoenix better do something, because that fatal flaw will ruin their chances of a deep playoff run.
Have not been able to watch a game yet but the replays have looked bad for Nurk. Maybe tonight I will get my first live look and make an assessment.
