  1. People like you guys continue to sleep on the Mavs then wonder why theyre doing so great. Pay actual attention to them. Luka is generational and Kyrie is one of the most skilled ever that alone is contender worthy

  2. In a 5 a team sports, if you have the one of the best player in the league, you always have a chance to be champion

  3. When it comes to defense I know the mavs are gonna rely heavy on the Naji, Grimes and Dlive / Gafford minutesā€¦. Hopefully maybe gortman signs something or sharpe šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø would love to bring more size

  4. please, just please jason dont talk about the mavs again on your podcast, 'cause your takes is always trash … just focus of how you fell in-love in NY, BOST or OKC…

  5. Essentially every NBA offense is unstoppable, at least roughly 90% of the time, the problem is that itā€™s unwatchable. At least half the time itā€™s pick/roll, drive and kick to corner for uncontested three – OR, itā€™s try to switch and let the big shoot a three. Boring. Itā€™s time to get rid of the three, shorten the shot clock, give two points for each foul shot, or whatever. The NBA , in its current iteration, is unwatchable.

  6. Once again these guys are wrong the mavs are a top 3 team if not the best we clearly got better the new additions are better than the guys they replaced the centers are absolutely dominant

  7. This is so disrespectful to what Lively will bring to this defense. Everyone is making it about DJJ when we got better with two rim protectors. I get the on ball defense but somehow he has been made into this All defense guy and this just isn't the case. He didn't shut out any guy from Shai to Edwards. They got theirs and we shut everyone else down. DJJ just chased them around and made them work.

The Luka disrespect on this channel is wild as well.

  8. Mavs Lineup:
    PG- LUKA (Scorer/Facilitator)
    SG-KYRIE (Extreme Scorer)
    SF- KLAY (Elite Shooter)
    PF- PJ W. (Perimeter Defender)
    C-GAFFORD (Rim Protector)

  9. The. Mavs always wanted to start THJ but he was the worst defender The offense would be much better with thj. Djj only got the starting spot when he was able to hit a few 3s and get some dunks vs Grant Williams. Djj did play really good but his impact was only felt after PJ and Gaf came Because Mavs biggest issue was defense in the paint. Klay just by being a better defender than kyrie and Luka already takes away that offense for defense issue mavs had. Naji comes in off the bench and you get an elevation of defense and another Djj. But mavs always wanted THJ to start now we Have Klay whos better at everything. Mavs want high power offense and they will have top 10-15 defense because of Dlive/Pj/Naji/Gaf.

  10. Where are yā€™all getting all of these ā€œifsā€?! The only If you can maybe say is Klays ability to play Dā€¦.guys he isnā€™t gonna be a 35 mpg guy on this teamā€¦

  11. Im confused how okc has new pieces to integrate and will hve no troubles but mavs new pieces gelling is an unknown šŸ™„šŸ™„šŸ™„… these guys are wild

  12. Don't get me wrong, DJJ was a great piece on Mavs, but dude was literally out of the league if Mavs didn't sign him at the last minute.
So he gets the luxury of playing next to Luka and Kai and puts the work in and has the best season of his career, strictly because of those two guys and all of a sudden Mavs are crippled because he left?
DFS was a much better player the DJJ and is now a bench player in Brooklyn.
This dudes need to start using their brains and stop overthinking and overanalyzing things because they are wrong 95% of the time they talk about Dallas.
DJJ was not even the 5th best player in Dallas so losing him won't mean to much for them.

  13. Dubs fan here since 04šŸ‘‹

Klay only started shooting well after we moved him to coming off the bench last year..he was really struggling against the starters and as a starter. And he canā€™t dribble, he always couldnā€™t but everyone is just way younger and faster now, meaning you donā€™t really need to double him.

  14. Why do I always hear about Ant or Shai taking a leap but never Luka even though heā€™s taken one every year of his career?

  15. Jason, are you slightly biased against Dallas or are they truly worse compared to other teams because of the defense and have no chance against Thunder and Nuggets, I know Boston is different beast, still if this 2 teams meet in finals again next season Dallas won't go down as easily. I believe Dallas can come to the finals, and again loose to Boston. But I admit I'm biased because I'm from Slovenia, and obviously Luka is from Slovenia and I just love this team to the death. I see Luka is not a good defender and I hate his cry baby attitude toward the refs, I feel like all team suffer because of that. Still statistically he should won the MVP last year. 34/9/10 is brutal, 2nd in 3pts made and his playmaking, vision, passing, Basketball IQ, fast decisions are the best in the league. He should win this award. What does Luka need to do to be an MVP. How come Jokič won another award, and how was he somehow before Luka, because statistic doesn't show that and according to many Nuggets have all the right pieces around Joker. I truly dont get it, would 38pts, 10reb and 12 ast be enough for Luka to win an MVP, does he just need to improve on defense, or there is no world where he can win this award? Last year people said he can't be MVP because Dallas was to low at standings they were like 8th or something, but in the end they crawled up to 5th spot, went to the finals, and than they say it is because of his defense. I believe he had better season than Jokič or SGA had. Again statistically this is fact.

  16. Why does everyone talk about DJJ like heā€™s an all nba defensive player šŸ¤£ DJJ was bad for over half the season it wasnā€™t until we got pj and gaff that he finally became good in his role.

  17. Dallas won the west last season. They got better and deeper since. You cannot be serious and not see that Dallas got better on Defense with Grimes and Marshall. When you talk Klay you are missing that in his worst season he doubled the 3 point output of SGA and Ant.

  18. Mavs fan here. Just fine returning to the playoffs as an underdog. Worked well in '23-'24 don't you think? The Mavs improved this summer, the question is, who else in the West improved? OKC? Sure. Wolves? not sure. Nuggets? still have Jokic. Look out for Phoenix and Memphis. Blood bath is a decent description of the Western Conf. right now.

  19. As a Mavs fan i appreciate the dose of realism. That said, I think people forget what Dallas was before the ASB last season–an offensive powerhouse that couldnt defend, which it sounds like yall think they are this year. They absolutely lit it up on D over the second half last season though and its not like it was because of any one guy, even if DJJ was their best 1v1 defender. Their defense was a team effort predicated on communication. I dont see any reason why this squad can't compete at the same level defensively this year given their personnel if they buy in like they did in the second half last year. Naji and Grimes can absolutely compensate for the loss of Green and DJJ on both sides.
