Nick Nurse: 'Canada ready for second NBA team'



Nick Nurse was bullish about the growth of basketball in Canada and suggested the country is in a much better position now to sustain a second NBA franchise.

Toronto’s head coach was speaking after the Raptors played a full-squad scrimmage game in front of a sell-out crowd in Victoria, BC.

  4. If Vancouver was not hobbled right out of the gate by the NBA, they would still have a franchise. The fans were loyal and long, long suffering. While Toronto began at the same time, they had the good fortune to draft Vince, who put basketball on the map in Toronto, as well as Toronto on the map in the NBA.
    Vancouver has the facility and the fanbase to make another go of it. It just needs a decent start.
