Mfiondu Kabengele talked about joining the Celtics, competing for a big man role with Robert Williams III absence and gave reactions to Grant Williams and Luke Kornet’s efforts to fill that spot. Al Horford will be a constant in Williams’ place, and Kabengele said he’s already received plenty of advice from Horford after hoping to meet him playing for Boston in July’s Summer League. Kabengele also noted how Joe Mazzulla is coaching the team’s defense in the early days of training camp, opting for more traditional coverages.

He just didnt get a chance in the nba when he got drafted, he played only 4 minutes a game and was a first round pick. And wasnt in a sitution that was good for development, he had other centers ahead of him and wasnt on a good team and coaching staff. He was drafted high for a reason and it was only 2 years ago so hopfully he can sort things out and find a place on the team
I like him he should start then have Blake off bench
Kid has his head on his shoulders, this is a keeper. Horford has over $250m lifetime earnings, which will keep you cool.
I love bigs like him that aren’t just trying to be big but a high level tactician, like Al
Sleeper
I like Kabengele a lot, his game is so tantalizing. Bro can space at the 3, set solid screens and probably throw it down on people's heads. I hope to see him get some minutes in Boston.
This interview was great!! Hope it works out for him and get minutes so he can showcase his talent.
Seems like a great person . He can be a really solid player , excited for him
Really like this guy
Like this guy my money is on him.
He’s very impressed with Luke’s poise 💪
I like him he looks like a smart young man! I hope his response wit will translate down to the floor where the action is!
He said the word phenomenal Bobby got to give him a t shirt
he was great in summer league
dude has game
Rooting for him
I know there’s a chance that he doesn’t get a lot of time, but I’m excited to see Kabengele develop with the C’s. He was definitely a highlight of Summer League.
I'm optimistic on this guy. He looks more fit than he was during Summer League. Even with all the injuries, the five spot is competitive.
I like this guy. He seems very confident and intelligent
Really live this kid..I livein vegas..not even a stones throw. From the Thomas an mack. Enter..saw some celtuc games this dummet..n this kid dominated ..especially in the paint. Hes
a worker. He will surprise lots of tesms in the league this year..guaranteed..
Especially elembid..can't wait for that mstchup..hes goin yo drive him crazy..not stop him.mind you.. ut bang him on the. Boards..already has a N.B.A. body..intelligent..also..
I like his mindset. Excited to see what he adds to the team this year
Brad Stevens is DESTROYING WHAT DANNY AINGE BUILT! Why would ANYONE WITH SENSE, sign Luke Kornet to a 2 Year Contract, and have him take-up a Roster Spot? This Kid, is a better fit, and should have been given Kornet’s Contract. The Celtics are back to Signing White Stiffs, simply because it is BOSTON!
Good attitude.
For the Love of the leprechaun can we please keep this kid !?
Really good interview Bobby 🙏☘️
I guess he is not important enough to get a real presser. Oh well, I hope he does well.
Seems like a great Kid!!
I really liked the way he answered questions. He didn't give vague or dodgy answers and he seemed genuinely interested in what was being asked. As far as a specific thing he said, I think it's interesting that he wasn't asked to do a lot of switching since that was obviously the team's bread and butter last year. I'm not a big fan of drop coverage in this league especially after seeing what Curry did to it in the Finals.
This is one sharp dude. Pulling for him.
