[Singer] Nuggets coach Michael Malone said the team has a new stat this year: “The Hubie.” If an offensive player shoots it and doesn’t crash the glass or get back on defense, that’s a Hubie. In other words, per Malone, “If you’re not here, or there, where the **** are you?”

There was nothing more that I hated when Harden would barrel into the paint, miss terribly, then complain to the ref while everybody else is getting back on defense. It was a free bucket for the other team, and nice to know Malone agrees that’s not cool.

Great, another stat for Bron to dominate

If you don’t get back on defense and complain to the refs, call it “The LeBron”.

Might as well rename the the league to the NHA then lol

MMW: Malone isn’t a championship level coach and will hold this team back if they ever get healthy.

This can’t be correct in 100 percent of situations — surely there’s a fair read of staying in place after shooting a 3-pointer as good strategy? If you immediately crash the glass and the shot goes in, you’re out of position for defense, but if you run back after shooting and it clanks you can’t get the rebound. Just staying in place until you have more information has to good sometimes.

“If you’re not here or there, where the fuck Hubie?”

Reminds me of freshman year basketball. Our coach made a rule that if you didn’t box out your guy and he gets the offensive rebound, your ass gets benched
