    As a wrestling fan, this isn’t new. The crowd for New Japan Pro Wrestling are usually silent, and respectful. Sometimes they’ll clap, but it’s easy to get used to while watching New Japan Pro Wrestling

    Japan things. It’s rude to speak loudly or even talk in the phone in the subway or compact space. Probably just an extension of that.

    I’d rather this, and hearing trash talk more honestly. The crowds will still be loud in big moments, but you hear more of the game this way.

    That sumo celebration with the pillows is like the coolest thing, doesn’t always need to be loud to show respect for an athletes abilities.

    I was at the game and alarmed by how quiet it got during free throws. I half heartedly threw a boo out there during a Hachimura free throw to try and drum up something. I guess there’s no technical home team so people didn’t know what to do
