Well, I loved a lot of what I saw from Sochan and Branham, so there’s that!

It’s weird being that bad young team that just chucks 3s and never makes anything…

Only other thought… I hope our D gets better.

Sochan, Malaki and Roby all looked pretty promising IMO. I think Blake Wesley should spend more time in the G League than Malaki. He looked ready to go out there.

Wonder what blackmail Wieskamp has got to have to still have a job

I love it. Tank mindset starts in preseason baby! Ahead of the game!

Branham: Gonna be frustrating at times when his shot goes cold but man his release is quick and when he does get hot he’ll be fun.

Wesley: Needs some reps and confidence but you can tell the tools are there. Hopefully he takes the Dejounte path.

Sochan: Dude is gonna play a lot this year and was worth the pick at 9. Defense is already showing flashes as is the shot.

Non-rookies: It would not surprise me to see a lot of JRich/Dougie/Poeltl/Collins minutes for the first month or so bc Pop is gonna wanna highlight them to drive their trade price tag up. So before you scream about why someone isn’t getting minutes, see the bigger picture.

Watch out, Bobcats. We’re coming for you.

Just generally happy that Spurs basketball is back. Devin’s frustration was clear but he gave good effort. Blake probably got a lot of minutes since we don’t have a lot of PG playing. Still, I like the kid. He seems like he has a lot of heart in him but still fairly humble and a team player. I thought for a while Malaki was injured or something. Glad he showed up and played well. The team looks more cohesive with Sochan on the floor. He’s so fun to watch and irritating for the opp. Did you guys see that push on him? I hope to see Primo and Keldon soon.

I’m going to spend this season living for Sochan’s help-side defence and Malaki’s mid-range game (when he happens to get on the court). And it’s going to be great.

    Rookie evaluation

    – Sochan was invisible in the first half then heating up on both ends later in the game.

    – Branham surely can shoot, which is enough to stand out in the night everybody else can’t.

    – Westley is 20% skills and 120% effort.

Hard to watch but exited either way. We are pretty much on the floor with these young kids which means the ceiling is pretty much as high as it could be. Branham and Sochan gonna be fun to watch.

The Big Baguette demands sacrifice as the Spurs are starting to gel on court. Hopefully things go well and the younglings develop properly.

What stood out to me about Sochan is you can see he has heart. He’s the type of player who goes after every ball and that one play where he fouled a rockets player and slammed the ball down shows he’s got a passion for the game. Honestly, he could be the glue guy of our 2025 championship team.
