Kind of a sidetrack here but can we drop the “Grimes was untouchable” thing? He was never the centerpiece of any trade that the Knicks would have offered – the main piece of any trade would be unprotected first round picks AND swaps. It is plausible that a borderline lottery team COULD value Grimes as an unprotected first round pick, but he was NOT “almost untouchable”.
It’s not just the semantics here either – I can already see people in here going “we didn’t get Spida because of this dude???” whenever Grimes has a bad game.

Wish the hate for the guy would stop; he’s getting paid properly for what he is, and he’s solid at what he does. I have zero issue with him, he buys in and doesn’t complain, he isn’t good on defense – but if he *was* he wouldn’t be getting paid what he’s getting. Give the man a chance if you’re rooting for wins over tanking.
