The Golden State Warriors NEED to EXTEND Jordan Poole ASAP

The 2022 Warriors Championship run was one for the ages. First-time Finals MVP Stephen Curry and Co. proved that they were not done winning, and they did so with mostly newcomers on the roster. The Post-Kevin Durant Dubs looked bleak, as they finished the 2019-2020 season with a 15-50 record, good for last place in the Western Conference during the Orlando Bubble. They fared better the next season, but a depleted roster with Klay Thompson still missing due to a right Achilles injury stopped any title aspirations they had as they fell to the Memphis Grizzlies in the elimination round of the play-in tournament. However, Golden State quickly retooled and was hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy over the Boston Celtics just one year after. While the core trio of Curry, Thompson, and Draymond Green carried the team during the title run, they weren’t without any help. Key contributions from former Minnesota Timberwolves swingman and unlikely All-Star starter Andrew Wiggins, returning veteran Andre Iguodala, and undrafted players such as Gary Payton II and Juan Toscano Anderson were all instrumental in the Warriors’ successful pursuit of their fourth championship in eight years, but none more so than the emergence of Jordan Poole. Here is why the Warriors NEED to extend Poole as soon as possible.

  1. Warriors owners should lock Poole up even if they have to sell part of the team again to insure their investment cost. Its not their fault the luxury tax is so high and they want to retain high level talent they were instrumental in developing.

  2. Yea he deserve a bag..he's a good player for the team..keep him please… cause he is an awesome player..

  3. Tough call under time pressure… Poole can’t guarantee an injury free season or a championship… all he can do is do his best – as part of a winning team… can the Warriors offer a progressive contract? A performance-based percentage of the total with the final amount based on winning another championship?… just a thought…
