I guess he was on a non-guaranteed deal then?

Max Mclung might have a spot in the NBA, but his style of play doesn’t suit the Warriors. We don’t need an instant offense energy guy, we need playmakers to set up all the other pieces we have.

Interesting. Probably because McClung was uninterested in a two-way, I’d assume. He’s better than Jerome Robinson but I’m guessing Robinson is more amenable to the two-way and possibly more amenable to being in Santa Cruz as well.

Also could just mean that the Warriors are more keen on Spencer and finding preseason minutes for both PGs and also Rollins didn’t make sense.

Ty Jerome is a damn fine player. He probably won’t make the team but he would be a good fit.

  5. ummmmmmm

Yeah Mac wasn’t our guy for the 15th spot. Think it’s gotta be Trevion.

And as a UVA fan and Warriors fan, bring on the Ty Jerome camp deal, though.

it’s pretty clear. he signed an exhibit 9, so he does not want to be on a 2-way or in the g-league. if anything, the warriors did right by him by releasing him as soon as they determined he would not make the 15 man (nobody else is going to make the 15 man unless someone forces the FO’s hand a-la GP2, or they decide to bump q to the final roster spot bc they want to add trev/jerome on a 2-way but still like quinones

Something people forget is that McClung didn’t want a two way contract. Warriors probably had enough of a look at him and thought there was no way he’s getting a main roster spot. So better to stop wasting each other’s time. Good luck to him.

But some random redditor on this sub said that McClung was their best end of bench player! WTF Bob! /s

Low key very excited for this for a 15th roster spot. Ty always seemed like a smart team player

I liked Ty in OKC, feel like he was solid one of the seasons he spent there.

Still should qualify for a two-way since he hasn’t hit 4yrs of service (i think?). Worth a look, even if they have a decent amount of guard depth.

Good move. Allows McClung (who belongs in the NBA) to find the right spot for him.

Good luck to Mac, plays hard and hopefully gets a chance to be a sparkplug in the league.

    We’ve cleared 3 roster spots!

Mac, Max, and Matt all released on the same day. Light years! Someone give Bob some f’n credit!

Yeah no shock he’s just not a Kerr player

  15. Lol all you morons who wanted mcclung. Imagine watching the warriors play winning basketball and still be a fan that can’t recognize that mcclung plays losing ball

I lowkey wanna see more of Pat Spencer.

  17. It’s surprising that he got invited to camp in the first place. Not the type of game player Kerr likes at all, especially in a role player. Not anywhere near as good to justify being a player on this team who doesn’t fit. I’ve been surprised how popular he seems to be since summer league. Probably his flashy style of play.
