Orlando Magic learning walking their talk won't be easy

The Orlando Magic talked a lot about how they wanted to develop and grow this preseason. But their first preseason game showed just how difficult learning to walk will be and how much further they still have to go to be ready for the regular season.

  1. Not too worried about last night but Cole looked great and imo should start at the 2 when everyone’s healthy

  2. Any hope of playoffs is gone. Unless Franz is the one piece to put it all together lol

  3. I think Suggs is going to be great.
But with that being said he has to sure up his ball security/handle if he wants to be an impact player on offense.
Jump shot will come with time but for a guard that handle on the ball is imperative.

  4. Any talk of Markelle not starting or being part of the teams long term plans should've died last night. This train doesn't go without him

  5. The Magic are missing 4 key players in Fultz, Wagner, Harris and JI. Everyone except Cole, Mo and RJ had a terrible games. That will change.

  6. Magic have so many bigs in their starting Lineup, this is not going to help Banchero offensively or defensively seeing that he has to play the #3 position. He is too big to be playing SF. Teams are going to exploit this and put him on pick and roll every time.

Offensively, he was trying to make plays as a 3 but end up turning the ball over 4 times in only 24 mins. He had zero impact on the 24 mins he was on the floor (-18)

Defensively, he was exploited and Opposing guards were driving past him cause he has to play in the perimeter (the SF spot) instead of being in the paint cause magic have MO and Carter camped inside the paint. Remember Banchero lateral quickness is not that good to keep up with guards or give up a bunch of 3's…

If Orlando want to be serious, the have to move either MO or Cater to the bench, still they have too many big even Wagner (whom should be in the Starting line-up over MO) is 6'10 you can't have him in the starting lineup either. I don't know why Orland didn't trade MO for a real #3 to compliment their starting rotation.
