QUOTES/NOTES/TOPICS:

• Steve Kerr says Klay Thompson took part in the live action portion of practice today, which Kerr described as a step below a scrimmage. They will scrimmage tomorrow, for which Thompson’s status is “unlikely”. Kerr says that heading into training camp, the plan wasn’t for Thompson to be held out of certain activities and preseason games. That was determined a few days in. “We’re 13 days away (from Opening Night). My guess is he’ll be ready. It’s not something we can just automatically say ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ on.” Warriors want him to play in one of the next three preseason games. Unlikely on Sunday. (Kendra Andrews, Anthony Slater)

• Kerr says that Patrick Baldwin Jr. will “definitely” need some time in Santa Cruz this season: “I couldn’t be happier and more excited about Patrick. But I also want to temper any expectations…He needs to play…He needs a foundation. Part of that foundation is confidence…Any time you have anyone with that type of basketball feel, it’s easy to fit that type of player into any lineup.” Baldwin has a good feel for the game and obviously made shots in Japan. And he’s much quicker than he was in his injury-plagued college career. (95.7 The Game, CJ Holmes, Tim Kawakami)

• Kerr has been impressed with DiVincenzo: “Donte has a grit and toughness that I feel about him. He’s gonna be in the rotation.” (95.7 The Game)

• On rookies Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan Rollins: “If either one of them is able to earn minutes, then more power to them. But it’s unlikely what our roster looks like.” (95.7 The Game)

• On Kuminga and Moody: “(Kuminga) is so explosive and powerful. In a switching lineup, JK has shown that he’s really effective. Moses, I think can play in any lineup.” (95.7 The Game)

• Kerr said it’s “doubtful” Iguodala will play in preseason: “We’re definitely gonna take it slow with Andre. We’d rather have him fresh and available the second half of the season rather than the first.” (95.7 The Game)

• A few rotation questions today. Obviously early, but the initial 2nd unit group he mentioned sets up Klay with 4 bench players to start 2nd/4th quarters, which is what GSWs have done a lot in the past. Kerr mentioned: Klay/Poole/DiVincenzo/JMG/Wiseman. Moody and Kuminga are combo guys in this rotation since they’ll likely play with Steph/Draymond and also in versions of the 2nd unit at times. He definitely seems to want to keep Wiseman and JaMychal Green together. (Tim Kawakami)

• Kerr gave a shoutout to the coaching staff for developing the young Warriors: “It feels like a machine right now. Everything is clicking really smoothly. There’s a good flow to practice.” (95.7 The Game)

  2. Whoever that stupid chick is, she asked the exact same question to all dubs interviewed. C'mon, be creative.

  3. It really makes no sense. The guy was able to play in the playoffs last year and half the season but not start this season?

  4. The one question that didn't get asked, are they considering once Klay returns, to bring him off the bench. So that Jordan Poole can start, and take the load of minutes.

  5. I can see why they picked Rollins and signed him for 3 years he is really long for a guard and super fast and strong his pull-up jumpers looked good in Japan even when he missed he can get where he wants and his passing appears to be good.

  6. This team is so deep. Great questions from the media about rotation ideas and great answers from Kerr. This might be the deepest team they have had considering they have 3 lottery picks that are on edge of rotation I’m sure they will all play but you have starting 5 then Poole, Donte, wiseman, Green, Moody, Kuminga that’s 11 then you have Baldwin Rollins who I think will get a little time through the year. Baldwin sure does look skilled and he is big I didn’t realize he was that tall. Kerr has weapons this year I’m so hyped

  7. Klay most likely never going to play any pre-season for rest of his career. He might be thinking it might jinx his playing ability and get an injury again.

  8. Ok🤔🤔🤔, so what's wrong with Klay🤨🤨🤨🤨, is it mentally that he's scared of getting hurt again, or is one of his injuries bothering him 🧐
