Coach says his defense is the most improved? That coach gets more and more annoying. He's playing mind games because he doesn't want to let Ant take over the offense because he's trying to keep KAT and DLO happy. They are weak on the defensive end. SET ANT FREE and have McDaniels as his Robin. Trade KAT and DLO for a superstar or at least a legitimate all-star. That's when this team will take off. Still looking forward to this season though, I'm just not holding my breath on people that don't answer the call in high-pressure moments.

I have heard Ant answer this question about his defense twice now with “MOR effort”, but his answer concerns me. Yes, a big part of being a good defender is having the effort/grit and athleticism. But the truly great defenders add a MENTAL dimension in which they read and diagnose plays before they happen and watch film so they know player tendencies before tipoff. I am concerned that Ant’s answer shows he isn’t working much on this mental/analytical/processing part of his defensive game, which seemed to be what was lacking the most last year (mental lapses, being caught unaware or reacting too slowly). If he wants to be in the DPOY conversation this year, hopefully he picks this up from Rudy! Go Wolves!
