> It makes sense why the Warriors who spoke publicly on Thursday used words like trust and respect, and why they were so defensive about the idea of Poole receiving blame. And this was before they saw the video.
>One of the tricky elements to the fallout of this situation is few people saw Green actually hit Poole. They know he hit him. They saw the two get separated and Poole getting off the ground. But most were focused on the scrimmage before hearing the commotion. Nothing suggested violence was about to happen, so they weren’t paying attention. And it happened so fast.
>But on Friday morning, many watched the video and saw what happened for the first time, along with the rest of us. Multiple sources said their view of the situation is altered. Seeing Green walking up on Poole with obvious bad intentions. Seeing him respond to a baited shove from Poole with a ready swing. Seeing how much venom was behind the punch. That wasn’t the Draymond they knew. That was different than a chin-checking jab they presumed, the kind of measured punch you’d give your little brother.
>Yes, Poole is the little brother. He is brash. He is outspoken. He is confident. And he is good. But that’s a part of what they love about him. Even if he can be irritating sometimes, or talk above his britches, that’s kind of what little bros are supposed to do — which is why the Warriors have been adamant Poole did nothing wrong. They are not happy their little bro was violated.

Lol sure
“Damn, there was a fight yesterday?”
Well, he’s likely lost all the respect from the young players. Imagine a teammate that has a big brother like figure within the team to the young players ends up rocking the shit out of one of them. I don’t think they can look or even treat Dray the same anymore man.
Like, putting it into perspective, peep how close Jordan’s head was to the wall. Like that shit coulda bounced off if it after the punch, two head rocking hits like that could’ve been life changing, let alone career changing.
All in all, it’s going to be more than just an uphill battle for Dray to regain the trust and respect of the young guns, and it’s something that might not ever happen.
Hope they both respectively received their just bags, and move on and be professional about it….

The video really took a bad situation and made it irreparable. Lebron couldn’t end the Warriors dynasty, KD couldn’t end the Warriors dynasty…Imagine if it all comes down because of a random waterboy recording
Honestly I’m disgusted by Draymond. Dude used Chris Haynes as a mouth piece and made this about money. Now Poole will have to deal with this his whole career now that it got leaked. I’m not saying this will destroy the team but this is not something that will 100% be fixed.
Draymond gotta go. Waive that mf. Don’t want any part of him in this team
Wasn’t Ron Adams right there. He didn’t relay how bad it really was to all the other coaches?
Dray been on demon mode this off-season once he started hooping with Miles Bridges. Seems bridges taught him how to punch people for not taking abuse
> that wasn’t the Draymond they knew.
Haha ok I’m tired of this team coddling and enabling draymond.
Dude is a punk with the softest ego to match the biggest mouth.
When he comes back to chase in a different uni, he’s getting boo’d.
I would love to see drama but I respect the FO for keeping it quiet. I expect Draymond will not be at practice and sometime later this week they will announce a lengthy suspension (10+ games) and missing the ring ceremony.
I speculate the FO is trying to deal with some serious fallout ASAP. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Draymond is on the block. I’m not a professional athlete, but professional athletes saying they couldn’t be someone’s teammate after getting punched in their face by a teammate is telling. I would be impressed if Poole let it slide but totally understand if he tells the front office it’s him or me with Draymond. This isn’t something that happens multiple times a season like r/nba nephews think. You don’t sucker punch your teammates. On top of that, Draymond’s value to the team is to mentally hold them together and to mentor some of the younger guys on the intricacies of the game. If he can’t get that done his value drops dramatically.
This was a step too far and I believe that a lot of these guys didn’t see what happened.
I do think Dray fucked up this time, I really do.
Trade Draymond for GPII
This is such a powerful piece by Marcus Thompson, who is easily the best Warriors writer and sports writer in general.
“Baited push” lmao. Someone getting in his face and he pushed them away hows that baiting?
Dray even got the homie Marcus calling his ass out, dude fucked up big.

Sounds like most of the team didn’t know how bad the hit was? Looked like Curry was faced the other way, assume that video is the first real look he had of it. Gotta think Steph is heated.
