  1. I'm really worried about our FT shooting. The Raptors had always been money at the FT line going back 10 yrs, until last season (Tampa?). Wtf is going on here? We lost games last year because of poor FT shooting. Can they somehow turn it around or is that just part of this Raptors iteration's DNA? I'm confused and deeply concerned.

  2. I feel like Raptors run too many iso plays. Draw some plays run off 4 screens, pass pass pass!

  3. I hope you're right and it's just a wall that they can overcome, and not burnout from working all summer.

  4. Mann! I am worried about the way we are playing. Here is why we are playing hard yes sir our starting lineup are playing hard but not communicating or playing on the defensive side that I understand because it preseason. If you’re going to play so hard not to win make no sense. We spent all summer practicing my question is what did we learn? I understand many team are going to be tanking this year for this young man Victor Wembanyama. The Raptors isn’t in that conversation we shouldn’t be looking to do the same because the NBA is making us get a number one pick no matter how tanking we are so we should be looking at taking the chip this year because many team are going to try to tank we see that is already playing out at the Warriors setting up to fall short with Draymond Green fighting they are going to use that as excuse to fall short. Many teams are going to follow I believe even the Celtics are looking to capitalize on this aspect Victor Wembanyama team want him back this kat is the new KD mix with Lebron they want him back but this young man have a big wall to climb with Zion, Scottie and these young lions like Ja Morant he isn’t going to push around guys in this era. But team want him so I see 29 teams not playing up to the potential but raptors should capitalize on that.

  5. Thanks for the knowledgeable info Chev, i love how you always like to get to the bottom of things, and understand everything, and yeah your prospective of the wall is right, but we'll be fine can't wait for that next gear to kick in. #WETHENORTH #LETSGORAPTORS

  6. @chev you reading too much into it. the starters came out flat, and nurse put the bench in kinda too late. he was trying to let them work through it in preseason because thats where you suppose to work things out cuz it really doesnt matter.

also you can simply explain it the let down game after an emotional win over the celtics. They played overtime too so they were gonna be more tired than normal. you see it all the time after an emotional win there is a let down next game. and also in games were teams play overtime, they are going to be more tired. Its like when you have a stressful situation what ever it may be in your life, and you running on adrenaline, and it wears off. Its what basically happened. Its like working longer in overtime and getting what ya want, and after the adrenaline wears off and you say you did it , you tired after that.

  7. Where is all that tough talk? Y’all got waxed by a rebuilding Rockets, yeah it’s preseason, but dude was talking a lot during those preseason wins. Raptors at best is a 6 seed, first round exit team, Pascal ain’t it and has never been it and Scottie has potential, just no where close tapping into it yet, I give Raptors 5-10 more years of player development and good drafting and they will be a problem, just not one right now.

  8. I think Jordan Poole will join the raptors in like 3 years and make it a championship team

  9. Nick Nurse knows how to win and if they really cared about winning this game they would have played in the paint and muscled their way to a double digit win. I think they are trying to lay low and practice some things that they want to work on. They aren't giving up any other their set plays that they will go to during the season. The Raptors are a professional top team, they know what matters and what doesn't. In my opinion they are keeping the curtains closed and waiting to give everyone the show when it matters. Then when the regular season ends, they bring out the real plays that everyone wants to see in the playoffs AKA the Encore.

  10. Is it fair to say that the Raptors were bored facing the Rockets? Gifted kids need a challenge, you have to give them difficult assignments. They knew this game didn't count emotionally, Boston was different. PRIDE!

  11. I’m not gonna say anything untill the regular season. Preseason is nothing but practice for teams. I’d rather lose all of our preseason games and learn what we are doing wrong, then start the regular season being cocky.

  12. #NBAChev I said the same thing last night, Summer high wear off , and pre-season low stakes experiment have no emotional value…Look at our players eyes there is no fire in the eyes yet… Only the bench have the competition burst…lol.. I am fine with Scottie looking around processing reading the floor that slowed down our players… We have to be patient with him… We see a concerted effort to give O.G. the ball to bring it down and orchestrate play on the floor, another slow down in pace.. We also see GTJr bringing down the ball and playmaking, that slows down… We see Precious bring down the ball and play making and missing Pascal positioning for the ball several times…
In the houston game, I see our players running around without the ball, that was new plays I picked up, and confusion who should be where..
I see Koloko getting his feet wet with the starters…
Also Scottie is bigger and stronger.. his FT are more powerful hitting the back of the rim during game time…his 3s are off angle too in the heat of the game too…
Pascal is not looking for his best shots yet, he is firing off 3s at all spots on the court to get a feel…

As I said I'm not worried.. Nick Nurse said they are making changes to the offense, and making changes to the defense… Nick Nurse also giving Scottie his wish to play PG now in pre-season, so that Scottie will have some self-realization on what's realistic and what work need to be done… f you go to Scottie IG, he said he don't have much so say, just a lot of work to do….

Last point, we already have playoff strategy in play.. We are load managing FVV to be at his best for playoffs.. We have experience from Kawhi load management… We will also load manage Otto Porter Jr for playoffs… During the regular season Pascal, OG, Scottie gotta get it done for us, our defensive anchors, and Boucher and Precious our bench anchors…

  13. There is no excuse for not hitting free throws. These are pros! My U12 team hits consistently better than 70% from the line. Fack!!!

  14. After that ugly night , we got to see Koloko show us some of his skills. Koloko got a nasty hook shot , he need to make that his go to shot.

  15. Masai got an NBA ready rim protector in the 2nd round but this fanbase called him washed for including that 1st round pick in the thad young trade

  16. True. It looks like they are going so hard in practice against each other that they are playing with leftover gas against opposing teams. Right now we have too many dogs and too few roster spots available. Temporary situation.

  17. Hey Chev, what do you think about my assessment of Scotties improvement arc this season.… I’m concerned about his these two areas of his game illness they are corrected immediately:

    1. I don’t think his shooting is at the level to what I saw in the summer video clips. Whoever is teaching him to shoot is not doing a good job. He looks really, really bad. His feet are too wide apart and he is not balanced. It is even more evident at the foul line where he seems to be guiding the ball rather than shooting it.
    2. Playing Scottie in the NBA at the point guard spot for long stretch of time is a mistake. Too much responsibility now. He will be good but it will cost the team his improved scoring and aggression. Raps please stop and reduce this responsibility on him. He will break mentally as the turnover pile up. Let me know what you think

  18. What you're saying Chev makes so much sense. If that's the case then we'll be cruising throughout the season. I'm gonna watch and see.

  19. Bro, i know ur a Raptors guy like myself but i really think ur making excuses for these guys. How can they hit a wall by just playing in the Rico runs.
Teams hit the wall after roughly 35 to 40 games man. My guy Barnes look out of place, not energized at all.
Trent looks the same also, just jacking up shots and it’s all bricks.
I really don’t like how these guys look man.

  20. I haven't seen a lot of pick and roll. Way to many Iso.s we getting good looks just ain't going down. W3 need alot more pik and roll

  21. Your insights are brilliantly on point my brother. Our squad hasn’t time to recover. Once they get some recovery we’ll see some ridiculous growth and performance.

  22. Slow start at 2-1. Well… I remember the Celtics losing so many early season games last year. This time of the PRE-season means nothing. In a game from now, 3-1.

  23. Just think of the GOOD. Koloko can play. Banton is making it felt. Jackson looks decent. Precious looks better. Khem looks healed. Flynn isn't playing lol.

  24. My Spidey senses tell me there might be something else going on. FVV sat out against Houston to prove that Pascal & Scottie as PG won't work. The players close to Pascal & Scottie had great games (Banton, Precious, OG) the others consciously or subconsciously support FVV through their actions. I remember the 2nd half of Game 6 in the playoffs last year was when I 1st got this feeling of a leadership riff on the team between FVV & Scottie. Pascal is the #1 option and won't get caught in the power struggle, he just loves the game and works hard to win. In the game against Boston, FVV often didn't pass to a wide open Scottie.

  25. I thought the same thing, that the raptors look tired and heavy because of the hard work during the summer, when they were struggling on the first half against Utah Jazz. And we could see Fred yawning on the bench against Boston on the second half.

  26. This an interesting thing u have seen, i dropped a video on wat masai is doing based off our past failures regarding the team progression wall and be set up for a deep playoff run, u nailed the fact it’s important to have this in preseason and the beginning of the season and not after all-star break 😂 real ones see and understand even without the context, they just get it right off bat 😂

  27. You are so right about all this being more than just basketball, its about life. When you hit that wall you just gotta keep working and you always come out better. I been there and it can be so unmotivating, but thats when you find out what shit really means to you, and why you do what you do. Great video chev, hyped for this season to start and all the great content to come

  28. We hittin the the Wall now, party because it's preseason, cuz the games don't matter. Once the season starts, the switch will be flipped.

  29. Chev I'm telling you man you're really good at what you do you make up excuses for the Toronto Raptors that's so much of a fan you are I believe that they're not that good brah you make a good pitch and you're good at what you do but this time around I'm going to say they're not that good look at Pascal siakam look how easily you always gets beat to the rim and everybody has to collapse he's the weakest defender on that team believe it or not you have me watching the Toronto Raptors because you left New York to go to the Toronto Raptors but I guarantee you the New York Knicks are better than the Toronto Raptors this year and you're going to see

  30. Chev we need you to come back over to the New York Knicks we need you back in New York leave the Raptors we need you here chev there's no blockers like you out here for the for the Knicks your jokes the way you analyze the game because you are a true point guard and a die-hard fan too but we need you here for the Knicks and no other team but the Knicks

  31. It's exactly what I was thinking watching the first 3 games… these dudes are tired

  32. Btw will they be hitting a different type of wall by allstar? . Because honestly I remember kobe, Mans been working out 24/7 and he rarely getting hit into this "wall" so I need to understand this wall
