As a Magic fan I have high hopes for Suggs and I hope he proves everybody wrong. But he was one of the worst offensive players in the entire league as a rookie. He constantly missed layups and open 3's. He is however an elite defensive player. If he can get to Mediocre/average on offense he can be a long time starter. But he has a way to go just to get to average.
Remember when everyone had written Wendell off after his stint with the Bulls? I'm seeing the same similarities between the general consensus about WCJ after his first couple of seasons and Jalen Suggs now. Suggs was underwhelming as a rookie but like WCJ, there was context behind his struggles. A lot of it was out of his control.
I predicted WCJ to prove his doubters wrong last season and I’m banking on Suggs to do the same. He might not take the leap next season but he will eventually before his rookie contract expires!

I don't think Suggs is a bad scorer despite last year his biggest issue is the amount of shots he took within the first 5 seconds of the shot clock. Having Kelle to slow down the offense is going to really help Suggs get better shots and looks.

Ngl before the draft process I hoped we got Scottie and kuminga ..with that being said scottie got the roty but looking closely Suggs I’m not too mad at the outcome with him ..he shot like crap, had turnover problems, also I saw him miss so many layups but could get there with will so I never got too worried about him the way others did and it be been saying he’s bout to show some people that his rookie season was a fluke

as a Raptors fan, I think Scottie barnes played UP a decent amount, but i truly believe that if the Raptors took Suggs, he also (w/c)ould have won ROTY. No disrespect to the Magic organization but the fit was awful and the Magic basically fell into the trap of having to take him because Scottie came off the board.
Not looking good when he got more turnovers than points, only pre-season but fans expected to see improvement. Someone in a forum said he looks like a football player trying to play basketball…
