Steve Kerr today on if the leak is more serious than the actual incident: “I’m concerned about both. They are both a problem. The incident is a problem, the leak is a problem. I don’t rank these things. My job as a coach is to prepare us to play..that is made much trickier when there is a leak.”

ah the classic cha-cha. is he walking it back, or isnt he?

  2. throwawaythursday99

It’s interesting how they still don’t know who the vid leaker is. And with the ease & frequency we share things today, whomever sold it to TMZ wouldn’t even have to have been in the gym at the time.

  3. He’s such a moralist on every other topic except this one.

  4. Pinkpach

Steve… It’s pretty simple to rank these. One is an annoyance that might help other teams, the other is straight up assault, by a teammate nonetheless.

  5. JordanKneePoole

Accountability is a bitch ain’t it Steve.

  6. GoldenGloveMan

Inb4 the nephews rush in to ignore the fact that you can be concerned and dealing with 2 problems at once

    Translation:

“It’s harder to downplay a situation and sweep it under the rug, when someone films it. It adds further drama, and now we have to fall to the pressure of disciplining Draymond. It sucks.”

The fact that Steve Kerr and the organization are so against PHYSICAL ASSAULT not being reported on is numbing. If this doesn’t happen, we’d all think that Green/Poole got into “hold me back” shoving match. Instead, the Warriors now have to be accountable, and they don’t like it one bit.

As much as Steve Kerr states for civil rights and other social issues, this comes off as hypocritical. This is a black cloud over the NBA’s head for a league that tries to be progressive and meddle in social issues.

  9. A responsible person would say, “Physical assault is obviously the much bigger problem for us and society.” Such a wank.

I’m at a loss guys. One of the guys that work for me got Employee of the month and he’s in line for a big raise. One of my other employees got upset about it so he instigated a situation and sucker punched my rising star employee. Now I’m in a real pickle because it was apparently recorded and released to the media, so the owner and public at large are pissed.

We found out who leaked the video and now my owner wants me to fire either the leaker or the puncher. I’m so torn. On one hand I’ve got a guy who thought it was ok to release a video that shows some embarrassing stuff going on at our company, you know a real fucking degenerate, and on the other I’ve got someone who assaulted a human being. Which is worse??? Please help!

Kerr’s a bitch, dude. There would be *nothing* to leak if *nothing* happened, simple as that. In turn, it’s fuckin easy to figure out what’s the bigger problem out of the two. Ship old hatin’ ass Draymond so where else and fire the leak, after a proper investigation of course, which is easier said than done.

  12. darksemmel

“I don’t rank these things” – proceeds to only talk about the leak afterwards and how difficult that made everything.

    Sure. No ranking whatsoever

  13. KaiserKaiba

This has all the makings of a South Park episode

  14. DynamixRo

Here’s a thought: if it were just a “regular” practice scuffle, like some would want us to believe, it wouldn’t have been leaked.

  15. GayForJamie

“Hey, Steve. Here’s an opportunity to walk back what you said the other night, and say the attack was worse.”

    “Nah, I’m good, fam.”

  16. BadgerSauce

Well one of them is a crime and the other isn’t…

  17. Ninneveh

“Well Bob told me to say that the punching incident is just as bad as the leak once he realized everybody saw through our PR shenanigans. But really, the leak is the main issue everyone should focus on. Also Dray, please don’t punch me later, Im trying my best here.”

  18. he says he doesn’t rank these things yet he keeps going on about the leak longer than about the punch. almost like it concerns him more

  19. WiseBlindDragon

I find it so interesting how so many people are defending the right to assault somebody on a whim and are more upset about the leak. It’s disgustingly hypocritical of Kerr and SO many others in/around the league. If some no name player had done this to Steph, is there any question as to what would happen? Or if this entire thing had been between 2 staff members? In almost any other context Kerr would probably be teary eyed during the press conference but because it’s one of his more important players it’s just… a shame that it was leaked. A lot of moral absolutists suddenly accepting that a grey area exists…

Would really love to see someone on media acknowledge this sudden acceptance of violence by everyone else. It’s this sort of inconsistency that other people latch into to justify their own actions.

  20. Navia913

What is his deal? Why is he obsessed with the leak? I feel like I’m taking crazy pills

  21. As long as Draymond doesn’t punch Steph, Kerr doesn’t care.

  22. star_nerdy

If the truth is a problem, you’re the asshole.

  23. iamthecheesethatsbig

I don’t get it. Let’s just walk through this scenario. Let’s say the lead was some low-level employee looking to make a quick buck. He/she is fired. Shame on them. Now what? What are you going to do about the problem?

  24. oldmansamuelson

There’s nothing to leak If Draymond didn’t assault Poole. It’s pretty obvious that attacking someone is worse.

  25. GrumpyBearBank

Imagine being angry that a video of a crime leaked. Lol

  26. It would have been nice if a reporter had reworded the question so it’s not “The incident with Draymond and the leak” it’s “Do you think Draymond Green physically assaulting Jordan Poole by way of sucker punch is worse than the video of Draymond Green physically assaulting Jordan Poole by way of sucker punch leakingvto the public?” Make Kerr make it abundantly clear that he’s more concerned about the video getting out.

  27. flukeunderwi

The leak was good. The punch was not.

    Kerr is an idiot.

  28. Soji_Juice

Lol he’s definitely more upset about the leak.

  29. As a coach I would think that one of your stars knocking out another of your stars, would be trickier to deal with than a leak of it…

  30. It’s shallow to brush off the additional complexities from the leak.
Other players who saw that video might be saying some things to Poole – “talking smack” – way more than if the video had stayed secure. Noise from the stands will be different post leak. The way that Poole has to manage his sense of security and self esteem changes. Anyone who has ever gotten a beat down or is close to someone who has of course understands.
And that’s simply the issues from the perspective f the victim.

  31. RED888IT

They just need an experienced plumber to sort out all these leaks

  32. Lmao the dude is such a moral hypocrite whenever it comes to his own team. This isn’t hard, Steve. Your job being a little more “tricky” is significantly less important than an actual crime committed in your facility. Like why is this so hard?
