  1. AU’s a good writer. He’s also probably right. Might not be a death knell, but means we really need Maxey to be a legit closer come playoffs.

Honestly, it’s a fair statement when talking about Harden’s physical limitations as a 33-year-old. My guess is that he will be a little better than last year. I think that if he can at least finish better at the rim, that will give us a huge boost.

But what I see the main difference is will be with the chemistry he’s building with Joel, Maxey and Tobias. He already plays with PJ and House Pretty well.

The second improvement may be in his mentality, as we’ve seen from the training vids, he got passive a lot thinking that’s what he needed to do. But I hope we will see more of Harden in the first 4 games with Philly where he was aggressive and would be looking for his own shot more often.

He may very well be a 20 to 23 PPG this year and that’s ok. It’s the matter of how he gets those points and when he gets em that will make a bigger impact.

Preseason Harden has been better than last year’s playoff Harden.

Maxey looks legit, but Harden in the PG role is also really vital to our success. Even if he isn’t the MVP scorer he used to be.

If Maxey keeps scoring this well it will force Harden into a CP-type role

Idk if people were expecting Houston Harden but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards. However there’s nothing you can tell me or show me that would lead me to believe he will be the same or worse than last season. It’s just illogical.

He will be better (already looks better) than last year physically. But as much as it’d be nice James Harden is not gonna go hard during the preseason. He didn’t even when he was an MVP.

-The three looks good, lots of lift on his shot and it looks about as good as it did during the summer videos. That looks about where it was before last year. There will be some games (like in the playoffs against the Heat) where he gets hot and goes absolutely off.

-The pick and roll with Embiid is still gonna be a problem. Best pnr in the league last season by ppp. Joel will help him as much as he will help Joel.

-His passing is still going to be elite. Pretty sloppy handling last night but I’m obviously not worried about it.

Harden coasts in the preseason. He takes some reps to get in shape. In about a month he’ll be better.

This is what happens when you have part time music billboard analysts cosplay as basketball analysis. He is completely wrong about Harden…calls Dean Wade a “big” just a moronic post.

EDIT: I would also like to add that after the bubble he said Jaylen Brown was a better player than Joel Embiid. Do not listen to a word this guy says.

I don’t expect him to be Rockets Harden but I don’t think this team needs that version of Harden, Maxey is an all star in the making, who already looks even better than last year, and we went from having terrible depth to being one of the deepest teams in the league thanks in large part to Harden’s paycut. This is a championship squad with a healthy Embiid, even if Harden plays only as a pure PG, which is what I think we’ll see. Maxey will take the second most shots in the team, and James is fine with that because he knows how good this kid is.

our fanbase is moving the goalposts like hell lmao it went from lets get nets harden to now “its okay if hes a little better than last year🥺”

I still can’t believe some of yall expected Houston Harden this season. Like cmon man, yall down voted me to death when I said that Harden no longer exists. We’d be lucky to get Harden from the first few games of him as a Sixer. At this age tho, he’s still a better option at PG than that bum we had. We can win with this Harden!

Can somebody show me some clips of when Harden had this amazing first step like AI or Russ? All I ever remember seeing is crazy handles, misdirection, brakes like no other, and the confidence to hit amazing contested shots.

Here’s an iso highlight reel. The only difference I see between that guy and the 2022 guy is the outrageous confidence is gone. And yeah, I think having a tweaked hammy that can pull at any moment hurt that. Imo let the man do his thing and rebuild his confidence this year before the playoffs.
