Philadelphia 76ers news & rumors today are LOADED with team news on Tyrese Maxey, James Harden, Patrick McCaw and more! Let’s get into the latest.
– Tyrese Maxey has had a stellar start to the 2022 NBA preseason, where he is trying to take the next step and become the Sixers’ third star alongside Joel Embiid and James Harden. Maxey is averaging 20 points per game on 66% from three-point range in 3 preseason games.
– ESPN’s Zach Lowe dubbed the Sixers as part of the “inner circle” on ESPN, naming Doc Rivers’ team as one of the best 6 teams in the NBA. If everything goes right, can Philadelphia compete for the 2022-23 NBA Title?
– James Harden’s season will play a big part in whether or not the Sixers can compete in the loaded Eastern Conference. After battling hamstring and conditioning issues, can Harden get back to an elite level with Philly?
– The Sixers made a couple of roster moves over the weekend, signing BallIsLife legend Mac McClung and subsequently releasing him while retaining his G-League highlights. Mac McClung highlights are electric with high-flying dunks and athleticism, which will be on display with the Delaware Blue Coats.
– The Sixers also signed Patrick McCaw to a non-guaranteed training camp tryout. McCaw is a 3-time NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors, and played with the Sixers’ G-League affiliate last season.

ESPN’s Zach Lowe on the Philadelphia 76ers’ NBA title chances:
The good news is the Sixers are so talented, they don’t need Houston Harden — who likely no longer exists. They just need Harden to be good, or decent, or at the very least least to make some positive imprint instead of melting. Harden did that in some postseason performances last season, including a few in which he appeared to have some burst. If his hamstring is healthy and he’s in shape, Harden should remain an All-Star and in the conversation for third-team All-NBA. If that guy shows up when it matters, Philly has everything it needs.

  1. Patrick McCaw brings athleticism and creating enough consistency to developing his intangibles of a better scoring and playing the 6th man rotation to providing enough minutes for Patrick McCaw!
