Windy, the legendary house plant of ESPN

It’s been 3 months since the trade and they are still writing pieces that jon krawczynski wrote the definitive piece on days after the deal. Windy was in Minneapolis for media day and the first days of training camp and what he got was a few of the players were surprised on the deal. What is going on at ESPN ☝🤔☝

Shoutout to Dane for getting quoted in the piece tho

I think the thing that excites me the most about this trade is how confident/excited the organization is; you can tell all these guys genuinely believe this can be championship roster with the addition of Gobert. And it’s not like this is Taylor’s Twolves of old with the countryclub vibe and everybody just being homegrown yes men.

Finch has proven to be an extremely high IQ, tactical coach that knows how to fit together disparate/unbalanced rosters; Gupta is one of the premier analytics minds in the NBA and helped build the Morey-ball Rockets; Tim Connelly is a great executive who helped build the Nuggets into a perennial powerhouse; and Lore may not be a basketball guy, but he’s billionaire entrepreneur who knows analytics and how to evaluate business decisions.

It feels good to feel genuinely confident in both the front office and the coaching staff.

Gobert isn’t who I wanted the team to mortgage their future for or go all in on, but the fact everyone in the building(especially Finch) is united behind it makes me feel better about it. At the very least it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out.

These “experts” keep failing to acknowledge that it’s not that easy to get stud free agents to Minnesota. We effectively have to pay more.

The market had two consenting teams. Everyone else will bite their tongue if we can make it to the finals in the next couple years.

“I liked the trade for all parties and they all seem content” – doesn’t get them clicks
