The Raptors have finished top 5 in the conference in 8 of the last 10 seasons LOL, yet they’re always putting us outside the top 8, I hate to say it but US sports media is a fascinating case of subtle xenophobia. No point bringing it up every year though.

We will finish the 2nd seed

It’s not unreasonable. While the Nets may implode, that isn’t a guarantee; they’ve got good talent and I could see them in the top 5. The same goes for the Heat. 76ers, Bucks, and Celtics are safely in the top 5.
Cavs, Bulls, Hawks, and Raptors are fairly interchangeable in terms of standings potential. I could see them filling up 6-10 in any order (final spot in there is a wildcard imo, maybe Pacers). While I would put the Raptors above the Bulls in my prediction (and have the Hawks higher up), it’s not unreasonable or unimaginable for it to be the other way around.

Why do they even predict the top 8 anymore when it’s top 6 plus 4 play-ins?

Its gonna be tough to be better than all these guys. I think we’ll be 5 or 6 but depending on health and development around the east I wouldn’t be too incredibly shocked if we fall to the 9 seed. I think we’d beat the bulls or hawks in the play-in though

Replace the Bucks with the Raps and looks good

The Bulls???? Hahahahaha

I could understand all of these except Chicago. The top 5 are all outright better than the Raps, and both Cleveland and Atlanta made big moves that look real good. But Chicago just makes no sense at all. Their starting PG is out indefinitely, their frontcourt is aging and looked bad towards the end of the year (especially Vuc), and they didn’t get better this offseason in the slightest.

The East is stacked this year, we’re a Siakam/FVV injury away from this happening. It would be hilarious if we unintentionally end up outside of the playoffs and end up getting the top pick. Wemby!

You’re posting this to the Raptors sub, what do you think? The Warriors just won the chip and some people are predicting they finish 8th — no need to get worked up over it.

The Bulls will not be a top 8 team in the East
Looks reasonable aside from Chicago
