I’m not buying that the bucks and clippers are so far down the rankings in their respective conferences.
As always, 538 loves our quartet of Tatum/Brown/Smart/White, all healthy positives on both sides of the ball.
Al and Grant are probably better than their Offensive Ratings suggest, RAPTOR places a great deal of emphasis on shot/play creation as opposed to play finishers, so spot-up shooters like your Klay Thompson, Joe Harris, Bojan Bogdanovic, and guys like Al and Grant aren’t regarded as highly.
With 538, I’ve always thought their ratings are a measure of your impact on winning, not necessarily an outright player ranking, and I think they are really good at measuring things that help contribute to winning big in the regular season, particularly their affection for the heliocentric playmaker type, and their love for the drop big on defense.
Nets, Cavs, Bucks too low. Hawks, Heat and Toronto too high.
Someone explain to me what makes anyone think the Hawks are gonna be better then the Bucks.
