Interesting he and Poole get extended on the same day. We know they were the priorities, but GS didn’t even let him think about UFA. Kept saying it was reported how much he loves the Bay and wouldn’t take a max contract extension to retain him.

This is probably around his value – he’s good, and very important to the team, but he’s still a role player at the end of the day who has his rough stretches. The Steph/Draymond aura makes everyone look way better on offense and on defense respectively. I’d say roughly $25M or so is fair, and that’s basically what he took.

Even when the Warriors acquired him, he remained polarizing. The fan base was split on him whether to extend him or not. Then came the crazy playoff run with defensive clamps and dunks.
