Mason and Grant made him even bigger in that series.
They made a literally childish mistake. Not to mention how much the series was won in advance for the Lakers. Denver had no chance against such refs who were on the side of the Lakers. That series is one of the most disgraceful armed robberies i have ever seen. Millsap literally does not touch Davis – foul. Davis got many soft touchy tiki taka fouls while Jokic was constantly caught, pushed, provoked and plus he received at least 3-4 invented offensive fouls in critical moments, they sent him to the bench. And on top of all that, Mason and Grant literally gifted a crucial victory to the Lakers with an unprecedentedly stupid reaction in the last few seconds. Plus, Denver had 14 tough games with the Clippers and Utah. But the refs, salary cheating, many months off for half the Lakers’ veteran roster, generally a perfect storm for LeBron to adorn himself with a ring 🙄
The bubble was perfect for the Lakers at that point. Later, in the following years, it was seen how lucky they were due to the covid situation.
