There’s no fcking shot this guy got more than Mikal

Holy overpay. This guy isn’t worth that.

  3. TimathanDuncan

Someone on the other thread just said he didn’t get extended and i forgot about his extension

I remember when Cam Reddish was getting more hype than Hunter despite being worse in every way, it’s actually crazy how some players have fanbases like that being terrible while Hunter is one of the most low key players in the league getting paid

Solid deal if he can stay healthy. Dude has shown some flashes although he kinda sucked last season from what I heard.

  5. BronBronBall

Overpay compared to his comparable players but these contracts won’t look that bad when the cap spikes.

Good deal imo. Bridges being a complete steal doesn’t change that.

Just gotta stay healthy, hope he can!

Guy has the tools to be good, can’t stay healthy at all. Don’t think it would’ve been such a bad idea to let him hit RFA

  8. ThatBull_cj

He’s pretty average as a wing but he’s kinda young and the hawks can’t replace him and there’s a chance he would’ve got paid a lot more this offseason

    Standard young 3-and-D wing contract

Thad Foucher and Joe Smith will be getting a lot more clients after this robbery

I really think Hunter is our X-Factor over these next few years. If he is able to deliver on his potential, I think our ceiling raises significantly. When he’s on (and healthy), he’s looked fantastic. I have no problem with this deal — there’s a chance he outperforms it.

Good contract.. he grades out to be a nice 3rd option on a contender

I know they traded for Dejounte Murray this offseason, but this dude is the real x-factor on the team.

They seem locked into the current core so they need Hunter to be the second best player on the team if they want to be serious contenders.

And with this number, raptors will be the most depressed team regarding extension lmao

No way all FVV, GTJ, and OG will get paid less than 28m

  15. Guerillabasketball

Wow, Hawks really going all in.

I respect it but even with the cap jump this is a lot for a guy who hasn’t been able to stay on the court and has just as much weaknesses as strengths.

If he can stay healthy and reaches his ceiling it will be worth it but there’s definitely gonna be sticker shock at that number in the media lol.

More than enough money to learn how to dribble, I’m not mad at this though

If he stays healthy I really like this deal.

  18. only playing an average of 46 games a season (139 total games in his first 3 seasons) , shocked atlanta was willing to give him that much guaranteed money. he’s a solid player on the court, but can’t forget that the best ability is availability.

  19. passiveparrot

    25mil fam? Lol

    Is his potential that high?

This seems like a lot for Hunter but wings with size get paid in the NBA. He’s basically Harrison Barnes in his measurables and Hunter’s new contract is similar to Barnes for when it was signed. You just don’t get good 6’8 3 and D wings without paying 20+ million a year.

Suns delusionals thought they were getting him for Jae Crowder
