The Celtics are getting him out of the organization, surely that’s for the best for any female staffers who very fairly felt uncomfortable with him being there.

  2. kneeco28

I’d bet lawyers advised them that if they’ve already made the decision that he’s not coaching for them again, they should let him interview elsewhere or be prepared to end up in court immediately after firing him.

  3. EmptySalami

It’s a perspective I hadn’t considered, but it’s surely better to have him out of the organisation

  4. Drwhoforme

Silly article, because the Celtics made it clear early, that Udoka was free to go anywhere else.

I’d argue keeping him employed was far more disheartening to the staff than shipping him away from the franchise.

Really this article seems like a hail marry attempt at painting the Celtics in a negative light for getting rid of him lol

  5. enjoime33

Trash reporting. Getting rid of this guy by any means possible is the best thing the Celtics organization can do to show their support for those women.

  6. coacoanutbenjamn

Lol, please explain how allowing Udoka to leave the organization puts those women in any worse of a position. Fake outrage attempt

  7. thejackel225

I see the point I guess but I don’t think this is really on the Cs, to me this was a “get the fuck out of here, whatever happens isn’t our problem”

  8. justklaythings

Don’t blame the Celtics for the Nets shortcomings

  9. BBallHunter

We really deflecting blame on the Celtics, not the Nets?

  10. KingMonaco

Reach. They get the “menace” as far as possible and for free. This was the best scenario they could have hoped for. Don’t even think they hoped for that much

  11. Nobody knows what they’re even mad about anymore.

  12. SalahManeFirmino

Oh get the fuck outta here, he’s not our problem anymore and the Celtics bear no responsibility for the Nets decision to hire him. He’s their problem now.

  13. Lmao how the fuck does this get spinned back to being the Celtics’ fault.

  14. TinTinsKnickerbocker

Are we aware what went down by now?

  15. Calibanite_Lion

What a stupid article. They literally sent him outta there. That’s basically the best for ALL people involved.

  16. trenkamp21

Well this is one way I didn’t think I would see this be spun. The Celtics properly suspended Udoka and did what they needed to do. Stopping Udoka from pursuing other opportunities would be the wrong thing to do imo.

  17. Iordofthememez

He’s mad just for the sake of being mad. Cs just want this asshole out and rightfully so

  18. Celtics are not obligated to protect the employees of the nets lol

  19. sarpnasty

Remember that sports “journalism” is barely even news. It’s all about personalities and entertainment. If the Celtics wanted to keep not paying Udoka, they wouldn’t be able to keep him from finding a job. The last thing Boston wants to do is give this man any more money than they have to. If they fired him, the nets would have fired Steve Nash sooner to pick him up.

  20. Hogo-Nano

Very tough to formulate an opinion on something you don’t have the details about. We literally still don’t even know what Ime Udoka did in the first place.

  21. fiskeybusiness

Maybe it’s just because I’m a Cs fan but what kind of galaxy brain take is this?

This stuff makes me hate the internet because not everyone needs a platform for their opinions, especially projecting your opinion on an organization that CLEARLY knows more than the author about the situation and OBVIOUSLY knows more about the wishings of their female staff than the author

  22. relax_live_longer

Maybe the Celtics should just eat Ime so he never bothers anyone ever again.

    This is so stupid.

  23. doflamingo34

So after the year suspension then what? He is still under contract with the team and the Celtics didn’t want him back so would he still be in the organization with those female employees?

I swear journalists just write articles without thinking.

  24. Thellamaking21

Seriously this is the nets fault let’s stop blaming the c’s

  25. Celtics bad for suspending him for a year, but Celtics also bad for letting him fuck off and be another team’s trash

    Hot take: Celtics bad

  26. I hate the Cs as every other Sixers fan but putting the blame on them for this is absurd. They have already done their dilligence.

  27. asjfueflof

Lol. Painting Boston as the bad guys when they suspended their coach the whole year. Maybe we should be talking about the dumpster fire that is Brooklyn hiring a coach who was just barely suspended.

  28. jabuendia

Hate to defend C’s but this is bs. Other teams arent their responsibility and they protected their own staff perfectly fine.

  29. guy_of_no_name

Unbelievable that they are trying to blame Celtics here. You really think those Celtics employees want Udoka still employed by the organization and getting a paycheck?

BTW, if this incident happened on the Nets we wouldn’t even know about it.

  30. pericles123

fuck off with this – I don’t like the Celtics as much as anyone – but the fault here is squarely on the Nets

  31. Strategist40

So… the Celtics should be hated for getting rid of a problem in their organization? Huh?

  32. Ok-Wonder-8885

Really poor take. Moving on from Udoka gives closure and allows their staff members to move on. Also, Celtics can’t block other teams from hiring Udoka forever, nor are they responsible to do that.

  33. Fr33Flow

Idk seems like maybe getting Udoka out of Boston and away from the female staff members is the best way to protect your employees?

  34. johnnyblack15

How is the Nets interviewing Ime and choosing to hire him the responsibility of Boston? The mental gymnastics required to come up win this bullshit is gold medal worthy.

  35. creedbratton603

What a weirdo tweet to try to somehow shift blame from the Nets to the Celtics
