It's shocking that they don't understand how plus/minus works, typically if the starters are evenly matched and you have a way better bench than the opposing bench the bench players plus/minus will be higher so despite what people think, if you consider Russ a bench player he's head and shoulders above damn near every other bench player. His plus/minus will be high if he's playing against he opposing bench and the Lakers go on a run. LeBron playing against guys like Jokic who can keep the game relatively close, his +- isn't supposed to be high tbh unless he comes on to play against the opposing bench during the game and has a strong impact.

MJ Kobe Kareem Dirk KG in their final year (year 15 for MJ) didn’t close anything and were a shell of themselves in their last year (15 for MJ and 20-21 for others) and their efficiency fell off a cliff and their ppg plummeted as well. Kobe in yr20 averaged 17.6 ppg on 35.6 FG% and 28.5% from 3. Dirk averaged 12 ppg on 45-46 FG%. Kareem averaged 10ppg on lower then normal efficiency. KG was like 7 ppg.
LeBron haters hold him to an unprecedented expectation/standard in yr 19/20 when he’s clearly been the best ever at those ages. Shocking a guy with more milage then everyone ever besides Kareem is tired late in the games!
