I wish I could say I was surprised by what I saw tonight, but I’m really not. This had all the hallmarks of a Celtics’ loss:
-Fall behind big, mount a comeback and go up 12, only to then let their foot off the gas and give up the lead
-Poor rebounding and poor perimeter defense after going up 12 in the 3rd
-Overall poor shooting night(41.3% overall, 26.8% from 3), including poor shooting nights by both Tatum(8/21, 2/9 from 3) and Brown(10/25, 3/10 from 3)
-14 turnovers including 6 by Tatum
After last season’s playoffs the Celtics in the clutch have been way more about surviving when they were up big than actually winning in the clutch, and sadly tonight was another example.
League better watch out when Rob is back.

Can we get a big already? Cavs were getting timely offensive rebounds and Allen and Mobley was feasting on the paint all night. Canāt rely on injury prone Rob Williams and old Al.

Really ill advised shot by smart on 2nd to last possession, waited too long for proper 2 for 1, and took a bad shot looking for foul when they had enough time to work for a better shot only down 1

Marcus smart does not look good defensively. Seems like withers either fouling or giving up a lot of space! We have been accustomed to seeing him get in the defenders grills and thatās no longer the case

Hauser’s 10 min with only 1 attempt is a waste of 9 minutes and 30 seconds. If he’s not shooting, play anyone else.
