Are the Toronto Raptors solving basketball with their transition dominance? | Raptors 143, Spurs 100

In Episode 1274, Sean Woodley and Jamar Hinds (Raptors Republic) break down the Toronto Raptors’ 143-100 beatdown of the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night. Off the top, they dig into the Raptors’ devastating work in transition, both against the Spurs, and on the season as a whole to date. Can they sustain being both the most proficient and high-frequency transition team in the NBA? And have they maybe sort of solved basketball? Next, they dig into the impressive defensive efforts from O.G. Anunoby and Scottie Barnes, and how their strides on that end this season have freed Pascal Siakam up to not have to do literally everything on both ends, which was on display again as Siakam secured his second triple-double of the young season. Lastly, Sean and Jamar run through the Good, the Bad and the Hmm from the game, with some high praise for Chris Boucher, scorn for those who think the Raptors would be better without Fred VanVleet, and some excitement about Scottie Barnes and Otto Porter Jr. all included.

  1. Lol we have to stop not recognizing there is a difference between how the team plays without Fred. I’m not saying get rid of him but we can definitely run him much less minutes and have Scottie and Siakam have more possession with the ball and making decisions. Also, KD and Fred and Warriors with Steph and Klay in their prime are not comparable to the Raptors in any category so that’s a terrible comparison 🤣
