Joakim Noah Opens Up About His Remarkable Basketball Journey From Florida to The Bulls and Beyond

Our guest this week is none other than Chicago Bulls legend, Joakim Noah. This is about as meaty as a conversation gets with topics discussed from his childhood to prime Derek Rose and so much more. But first, JJ and Tommy talk about the early MVP race and how Giannis Antetokounmpo should be the favorite now. Then we immediately get to Joakim Noah. Topics include: Joakim’s comments on Cleveland, Joakim’s childhood and how he fell in love with basketball, how he landed at Florida and won two National Championships, why he returned to Florida after winning his first National Championship, his rookie season in Chicago where his team voted to suspend him, the nature of things leaking in a locker room like the Jordan Poole / Draymond Green situation, that classic 2009 playoff series between The Chicago Bulls and The Boston Celtics, what it was like playing with prime Derrick Rose, the hope Derrick to the city of Chicago, Joakim’s recruitment of Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James, his thoughts on his ruthless competitiveness today, his time on The New York Knicks, fighting with his head coach Jeff Hornacek, getting another chance with The Memphis Grizzlies, finally retiring from basketball, the work he’s doing now with The BAL (Basketball Africa League), Obama’s 50th Birthday party game with Kobe Bryant and LeBron James and so much more.

  1. Thanks for watching, everyone. We really love this episode with Joakim and are thrilled to share it. Subscribe if you haven't and have a great weekend.

  2. Jo Noah will always be beloved in Chicago as one of our great sports figures and a favorite Bull.

  3. Jumped right into that Celtics series without talking about drafting Rose. But seriously great guest – I’m a huge bulls fan and hearing him talk about Derrick is the best. Celtics wasn’t the only series Jo we remember your game 7 performance against the nets. Love this man

  4. I am French. Joakim is humble. His father is not only a tennis legend in France who won Roland Garros. He is one of the most loved person in France and had a very successfull carreer as a pop singer too.

  5. My first nba 2k was 2k13 that bulls team with Rose Deng Noah was my favourite number 1 in defense, Noah was one of the only players you see get a 5×5

  6. This was sooo good. I listened to the whole thing start to finish and enjoyed every second.

  7. People pay for YouTube premium to avoid ads JJ. We don’t want a 5 minute ad at the start of each video of some
Shitty app you are trying to push.

  8. JOAKIM NOAH WITH THE QUICK FLEX “I COULD BE IN ST. BARTH BUT IM HERE SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR” 😂. DUDE COMES FROM MONEY BUT HE’S SO HUMBLE

  9. Definitely one of the best guests so far ! But why not try to go further in his answers and ask him more questions ? Why do you feel the need to relate your career to what he's saying every time ?

  10. Who was the player that JJ said was hard to watch, who supposedly lost joy for the game. I’m guessing it was a nets player…

  11. Love joakim man, one of my fav bulls growing up and one of my favorites all time. Left it all out on the floor and those years in Chicago really felt like a brotherhood man. Wish it ended better in Chicago and his career overall at the end but always got love for Jo in whatever he does next

  12. "Mind you, Ben Wallace is our captain, he has two HEADBANDS on his arms" Had me dead! 🤣🤣🤣

  13. I'll never forget seeing Joakim at a Shell gas station in Fort Lauderdale, FL, buying some things. I pull in, and there's this giant tour bus, and I think "who the hell is this?" It's Noah, I think Corey Brewer and one other cat. He was tall and the space was cramped. At the height of the Heat-Bulls rivalry too. Gave me the nod, and we kept it moving.
