The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 111-106 on Wednesday night at Moda Center.

Despite a 23-9 run in the fourth quarter by the Trail Blazers, the Grizzlies held on for their first wire-to-wire victory off the season.

Desmond Bane led the Grizzlies with 29 points, scoring 20 in the fourth quarter. Ja Morant followed with 20 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Steven Adams finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Santi Aldama scored 11 points, while John Konchar and David Roddy finished with 10 points each off the bench.

Memphis led 30-23 at the end of a first quarter that saw both teams feature a 12-2 run in the first nine minutes of the game. The Grizzlies maintained a 52-45 lead going into the locker room.

Memphis took a 78-72 lead into the fourth quarter and continued their hot streak, going 9-0 with three 3-pointers in the first minute of the fourth quarter.

After a valiant comeback attempt by Portland in the fourth quarter, the Grizzlies held on to win 111-106 behind Bane’s 20 fourth-quarter points.

Anfernee Simons led the Trail Blazers with a season-high 31 points in addition to eight assists. Jusuf Nurkic posted a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Jerami Grant also scored 23 points.
