The sheer abundance of games so there’s always something on every night for months is one of the most appealing aspects of the NBA though.

  2. RichardIraVos

the ideal nba season would be 120 games played year round

  3. WhackedOnWhackedOff

65 games is what Kyrie calls an extended season

  4. Hot_Injury7719

Head coach of team with aging top players wants fewer games.

  5. Beavshak

82 games, but Capri-Suns, crunchy cheetohs and and a baby orange on breaks

  6. RoyTarpleysGhost

I mean he’s right. In a sport where more than half the teams make the playoffs, the regular season has very little meaning.

  7. SimpatheticNS

Ideal work day would be 3 hours and would start at 11AM

  8. Not for me, i love the regular season!

And we all know that the NBA would just add a 17 game tournament to the season.

I don’t understand why they can’t just manage the team better. Do it like Broadway. Some games the bench guys just play. Form the roster better.

He says this as if there still wouldn’t be load management and certain stars only playing 50 games. They don’t need to reduce the schedule. Don’t cater to the players who don’t want to play every night

  11. leavemealonefamb

The players are already playing 65 games. Leave it as is.

“I want to work less and get paid the same”

Went to my first nba game in Nola yesterday to see there entire team not play. Thanks Warriors organization

Mfs gonna go crazy when Lebron breaks all the records and the league cuts the games down 😂😂😂 those records gonna be frozen

  15. thebursar

Big brain Steve. He just wants his 73game season to be the record forever

  16. Nothingtoseeheremmk

I’ll believe the desire for a shorter season is sincere when it’s proponents acknowledge they will be taking a pay cut

  17. TheThrowbackJersey

365 would be ideal for me and my boring life

  18. WiseguyD

Why not stretch out the schedule instead? Push the playoffs back about two weeks to avoid most B2Bs and give the NBA leniency with scheduling.

Teams been playing 80 games since the 1960s. Stop pampering these aging dudes and rotate the new stars in. The are upsetting the natural order of things. If Kawhi can only play 22 minutes a game then so be it. Stop reducing the length of the season to make these stars burn brighter.

  20. oprahjimfrey

Even if they cut the season to 65 games, guys will still take games off for “rest.”

  21. Awanderingleaf

Would render most all time records unreachable.

  22. Soupkitchn89

I think the better option is to keep 82 games but stretch the season out a bit. Shorter off season

  23. If the season is 65 games then star player will only play 45 games instead. Cutting down the total games will never stop load management at this point

  24. ive thought this for decades. NBA season has too many games for its players to stay healthy

  25. cardmanimgur

Once they expand they should just do 77 games. 15 other teams in your conference, play them each 3 times = 45 teams. Play the 16 teams in the other conference twice = 32 games. 77 total, and that reduction is manageable without significantly impacting tv revenue.
