  1. Trade 1: This is a great trade from our perspective since Nowell is a young, efficient and promising scorer with only 1 year left on his contract. The negatives of this on is that I think Minnesota won't give him up for that cheap. Trade 2 imo doesn't help us. We need Thad from the bench for long term and Trent is a young and amazing scorer with defense. If we wanted Clarkson, we could've gotten him in the beginning of the season with way less than that since Utah was open to trade him. Beasley is inconsistent and I'm not sure how he fits our bench. Trade 3 is a no brainer (no offense). Bradley Beal can not bring you a championship. He is not always efficient, bad defense, short for our system and doesn't pass the ball alot. On the top of that, we are giving away OG and Trent? Nah man. Also OG can be used in waaay better trades since he is one of if not the best defenders in the NBA with a ridiculously consistent jumper from the 3.
In summary, I would never do trade 3, I would consider trade 2 and I would definitely do trade 1. Good content my man.

  2. I dont know about the Beal trade. If Raptors are givin up that much its better to do it for a guy like KD not Beal. Not mention his massive contract and No trade.

  3. I know it's not how the NBA works, but I don't want OG to ever leave the Raptors.

In regards to the team overall, it's still too early to say. With all the chemistry that's been built up I want to see what it translates into. When they hit their shots it seems like they can/should beat most Teams.

  4. You wouldn’t give much for SGA or KD but that for Beal who easily the most overrated player in the league I wouldn’t even trade Flynn and 2 first for Beal terrible contract terrible fit and not someone that’s elevates you unlike KD SGA who fit the raptors

  5. Gary is better than Clarkson in the Jazz deal the raptors won’t trade him for role players it would be for a star but in this deal need picks

  6. I say we pull the trigger on the Flynn trade tomorrow and just get it done.

Other than that I don't see the other two trades really working / being as beneficial to be worth it

  7. Bro that Beal trade is straight up trash I would have a hard time wanting to give up that much for KD never mind Bradley Beal I’m not giving that much up for anybody unless it’s a bona fide superstar in Bealls not a bona fide number one contending superstar you wouldn’t even be number one on this team

  8. I don't mind the Flynn trade, and it's fun to play around with ideas/trade scenarios. Having said that, there's "0" chance that the Raptors would do that Beal-trade. They're already on the right track – with their experiment – of going All In with +SF's, and Beal completely reroutes everything that they're doing. He's going to be 30 next year, so he completely misses their timeline. I'm not a huge Trent-guy, but he's not going to demand the amount of shot attempts that Beal will. By the end of this year, the Raptors will be a massive mismatch by the time the playoffs roll around, and provided that their key players (Siakam, Barnes, O.G.) are healthy, I think they're in play for big things once the playoffs begin.

They still have a lot of ironing out to do, but adding Clarkson or Beal is not going to give the team a substantial IQ-boost; like adding Marc Gasol did on both ends in '19 the moment he arrived. Once the team is more locked-in, and less lost or stuck on possessions in certain match-ups, you'll likely see Nurse increase Young's minutes, and decrease the Raptors SF-core (Siakam, Barnes, O.G.); not to mention Porter Jr's incoming uptick of minutes as well and Achiuwa looking a lot more mobile and diverse than even what I had expected.

The Raptors will be the template for how to construct rosters going forward. Until there's another Jordan or Olajuwon (not just guys who put up great numbers at the center position but can't do enough once the playoffs begin), it's still a SF/PG league for the time being.

  9. Beal had one of the worst contracts in the league. Super max with a no trade clause. And he’s shown some sign of regression. No thanks 😊

  10. I get you gotta give to get but I don't have much interest in sacrificing OG for Beal. OG is just straight up a core for me. I would be interested to move FVV+Trent+1st in 2025 for Beal though or I would just keep OG and all my other pieces. I'd also look to do a deal of Banton, Precious Koloko for Poeltl. This might be a bit unrealistic but I think it helps us a lot. The bench takes a hit but it improves SG and C a lot.

    1. Barnes
    2. Beal
    3. OG
    4. Siakam
    5. Poetl
