  1. Teams are not allowing him to do anything, they just can't stop him. Perhaps have the shooters cut more and get open instead of just standing there. Set more off ball plays so luka can find the open man. But he is also averaging nearly 10 assists. So he is passing the ball.

  2. Phoenix will also likely tell you, be careful about picking on Luka on defense. It backfired on them when they did it, and only served to make him angry. And we all saw what the result of that was.

  3. Doncic shooting 3s this season at 25% so he only can get better at that if he would shoot 34% as always he would be averaging 40-45 and that is scary , stats of other MVP candidas will not be sustainable ever eventually it will be back to 28 averages too including giannis. luka averaged 35 in play offs where game much harder so to sustain this stats in reg season should not be that hard for Luka

  4. If Luka was built differently….like a Ja….I would say that it's IMPOSSIBLE for him to maintain these numbers. But we're talking about a 6'8 dude who is pretty stout. The banging in the paint doesn't take a toll on Luka like it would with a Kyrie or Ja or Dame.

But I feel like this is all going to even out over the season. Right now teams are trying to figure out if staying home on shooters is a better strat than getting the ball out of Luka's hands. There will come a time when teams try a new strategy that will call for Luka to pass more.

And I bet that time is coming once teams realize…Luka isn't going into a shooting slump if you keep letting him take the ball wherever he wants on the court. Luka may sometimes go cold from 3 but the dude's footwork is just TOOOOOOOOOOO good down in the paint for him to ever go cold.

  5. This is just more disrespect to Luka they never give him credit. No one is allowing him to do anything. He is just that unstoppable. No one says that teams allow giannis to score this narrative is always around Luka. Show bias nothing else. And this is the most sustainable thing i ever seen its not like Luka doing this on crazy shooting he is in a career worst shooting slump from 3 and still doing this. If he starts shooting well then it's a whole new ball game

  6. His scoring will stay over 30ppg at least. He is unstoppable within 12 feet of the rim

  7. This is pure disrespect. Teams are not asking for anything, they just know that as soon as you double Luka, the Mavs are even more effective than if you let Luka score. The scary thing is that Luka still has to find his stroke from 3 and that he is still officated like nobody else in the league to his disadvantage, if that changes at any point in the season, good luck. Luka himself said several times that beeing doubled all game is way more exhausting for him than just scoring. That Jordan theory makes no sense because Luka is a way better passer than Jordan, so even if they give it to him in the paint, Luka will just make the right pass. That exhaustion theory in the 4th quarter also does not seem to work, Luka is leading the league in clutch scoring. The narrative that Luka is a bad defender is absolutely ridiculous, he is an above average defender this season, here a short list of players that play lukas position that are all way worse defenders than luka and nobody seems to care, Curry, Lillard, Morant, Mitchell, Irving, Harden, Paul.
Luka is an unstoppable savant and the biggest Basketball talent we have ever seen, period. The Mavs will be overlooked like last season, the team is significantly better than last season and Luka Doncic alone makes you a contender. All their losses this season were very close and to a high degree a result of Christian Wood not beeing fully integrated in the defensive shemes, which is already getting way better. CHristian wood is also the best player luka ever had next to him, the fit is amazing on offense and it starts to show, Wood has a high chance of beeing an all star this season and is a huge upgrade over Brunson, who was great individually but a really bad fit with luka.
