Anyone else worried that out first round picks may bust except for Sengun?

The idea of sophomore slump is actually [false](https://www.ibtimes.com/nba-news-data-behind-sophomore-slump-if-it-exists-all-1818298?amp=1) and most players see a bump in stats from their rookie year to their prime. It is unusual to regress. At this point with the current staff Jalen is going to be underdeveloped and Jabari is going to be a chucker. I have zero faith in the staff to develop them

This data is irrelevant. Why? Because it does not factor in age into the progress of a player. Jalen isn’t Lebron, we get it. But you are looking at data of 4 year college graduates, maybe 3rd year players leaving early. Those guys were 21-23 years old. Look at KPJ, his development, his age, and his leap this year. We are in a different world with minimal data. Right now Jabari and Jalen are mentally adjusting to having millions of dollars, hot women in every city, new found stardom, and how not to get a how pregnant. I don’t know if you are trolling or truly worried, but the progression of a player is most important from the ages of 20-24. That’s why everyone wants players straight from high school. Instead of learning your basics from a college program that has you in a specific role, you learn all of the nba ways to play at a young and influenceable age. Jalen’s shot not dropping is probably a multitude of factors: tough start to season, a regular slump, fatigue from training like he never has trained before, adding weight to his frame and adjusting, a poor offensive system (or poor execution by a bunch of teenagers), playing against grown ass men … if Jalen doesn’t make a leap in his 21-22 age seasons, be worried. Right now he’s still learning to walk, Jabari isn’t even on the radar for 2 years. Let them buy a beer before you judge

Historically, late first rounders don’t usually pan out, mid 1st round picks tend to be role players if they stick around. Top 3 picks don’t always hit, but are high impact players when they do. I don’t expect us to fare worse than the usual outcomes. So no, not worried at all. Making conclusions 10 games after season 1 is premature.

  3. I’m not sold on green or Jabari. Downvote away but they have alot of room to grow

It’s bad coaching. No scheme or anything. Fire Silas and the players will play better.

Green will be fine, most likely our best player of the future unless we draft Wemby or Scoot. Jabari I’m starting to worry about. Christopher looked decent last year but looks absolutely awful this season. Garuba looks like a great backup option for defense. And tari has the potential to be amazing. TyTy still hasn’t played enough

  6. Jalen can easily have a Jordan Clarkson-esque NBA career, idk if the ceiling is higher feel like these next 2 years are vital

Nope! Anyone needing to accept some sort of career arc NOW is just jockeying to prop up “their guy” .. jumping on the “Sengun is a Star” wave may be premature too. Just let them play and gain chemistry with one another what is the rush?

    Too early to tell.
This should be the last tanking season for a rebuild. 3 years is enough to tank and get back into relevancy.

Next season is when decisions should be made, because that’s the season where the rockets will actually start really trying to win.

If not, Silas has to go.
