Last spring, nba.com ran a Playoffs Bracket Challenge contest promising prizes such as tickets and NBA Store gift cards. They never actually gave out the prizes to the winners

[nba.com](https://nba.com) has been a disaster for a while now, but this seems like a new low.

I only know of this because I came in 8th place ([screenshot](https://imgur.com/gallery/5Eq2gXJ)) and therefore won a 100 dollar NBA Store gift card. The [terms of service](https://imgur.com/gallery/5bTM8OQ) said prizes would be delivered in early August, and I emailed the [nba.com](https://nba.com) contact email address at that time. They redirected me to some “nbadsupport” email address where the employee there confirmed I was a winner and told me I would receive the gift card in the next couple of weeks. Then a couple of weeks turned into “absolutely prior to the 2022-23 season.” And now, three weeks into the season, still nothing, 3 months after the prizes were supposed to be sent out according to the ToS. [Here](https://imgur.com/gallery/5nMJMXS) are some screenshots of my emails with the employee who supposedly handles these prizing inquiries.

Clearly, my nba store gift card is not a huge deal. But the crazy thing is that the top winners actually won courtside tickets, and so they are presumably also still empty handed (when I last talked to this nbadsupport employee in late October, he said all of the Bracket Challenge prizes were “still being finalized.” Nothing has apparently changed since then). That’s nuts.

Just overall disappointing stuff from the nba.

Fuck them what an asshole move tbh

Hopefully they correct this. Why have the contest if you can’t handle giving out the prizes?

This is why Adam Silver loves gambling, he wins, you lose

just wanna make sure everyone knows NBA.com, the NBA app and League Pass are all run by Turner Sports. outside of Inside the NBA, they’ve been a total disaster at every turn. I was hoping Turner would quietly ride into the sunset when their contract expired, but they reportedly re-upped with Barkley in anticipation of bidding on another long-term contract, so now we can only pray that Amazon or some other tech company with deep pockets swoops in with an offer Turner can’t match.

Sue them in small claims court. Gift card will be at your house within a week

If the Anderson’s can get tickets to the game, you should be able to get a simple gift card.

NBA’s support is a shitshow. I submitted a feedback request because the Apple TV app doesn’t have a way to check the league standings. BTW, it used to – the new version that they have been touting as being superior because Microsoft is hosting it removed the feature.

    >>The Apple TV app doesn’t have any way to check standings. Or, if it does, it’s very unintuitive to find. I know the previous version had standings because I’ve been a league pass subscriber for about 6 years now.

    >>This support has been zero help, I gave half of that information in my original support request. I’m using the NBA app on Apple TV. I’m not at home to check the OS version or the app version. Suffice to say it’s the most recent one, I have it set to automatically update.

    >>I’m providing feedback about the app; this shouldn’t have taken more than 1 response.

    >>Hello again,

    >>Unfortunately, Box Scores are not available on Apple TV at this time.

    >>I’ve passed your comments over to our product team for review and I apologize for any disappointment. This feature may be available later in the season, however, we are unable to provide a timeline for any changes. Please also note, Box Scores are available on the mobile/tablet application and on NBA.com.

    >>Should you need any other assistance, please let us know.

    >>Best regards,

    >>Is there an explanation why this feature was removed from the app? Before this season there was a way to check the standings in the app. Why would this simple and necessary feature be taken away? Is it not important for fans to be able to see the standings? I know I can see it on other apps, but why do I have to use my phone when I’m already in the app?

    >>I just feel like it’s a little ridiculous to add steps to something so integral to the nature of the sport; making the playoffs and seeing your team’s position relative to the league is such a standard feature for the support that I’m wondering how a fan of the NBA could possibly be the project lead for this.

    >>Greetings,

    >>Thank you for the NBA League Pass product feedback.

    >>We are aware of the issue and apologize for the inconvenience this is causing. As of now, our developers are still working on the NBA App issues that are happening to most of our customers. We will have to wait until further notice for this issue to be fixed.
We appreciate your patience while we continue to look into this and will reply to this ticket once we have an update.

Literally 0 explanation why they removed the standings from the app.

Like 15 years ago I placed in the top 10 of one of the GameFAQS contest brackets, and got my $50 GameStop gift card in like a week. Get your shit together, NBA.com!

  15. It’s literally illegal to have a giveaway and not give anything away to the winner. You should sue

  16. MightBeASithLord

That’s insane, I worked for a company that did a public sweepstakes and we had to outsource everything a company that just handles sweepstakes to make sure it was all above board. Sweepstakes aren’t like bake sales, you can’t just fuck around and say you’re going to do it and then not. That’s a massive liability
