The Jon Scheyer era began exactly how the Blue Devils had hoped: with a dominant Duke victory in Cameron. Exciting freshman Mark Mitchell dazzled in his debut, finishing an alley-oop in the opening minutes and tallying 18 points. Another freshman, Kyle Filipowski, flashed his talents with a double double (10 points and 12 rebounds). Jeremy Roach finished with a solid 16 points.
