Mfers have Lebron and Ad, who they’ve literally already won a ring with and are talking about establishing a culture of winning.

[1: The Lakers aren’t a repeat tax offender. They will be next year. This suggests to me that he knows ownership isn’t willing to pay the repeater tax next year. 2: The Lakers can afford to pay any tax. They generate mountains of revenue. They CHOOSE not to pay what they can.](https://twitter.com/SamQuinnCBS/status/1589897077299228672?t=ZCOzlYP5zZbEu3aWwRgVvA&s=19)

[And to be clear here, I am using the words “repeat tax offender” as the CBA does. The Lakers are in the tax for the third consecutive season, but teams don’t have to pay the repeater penalty until they’ve been in the tax four out of five years (so next year).](https://twitter.com/SamQuinnCBS/status/1589898426304835585?t=q6jWH07ZJpLyXPNbU3beMQ&s=19)

The BS the FO is peddling through Ham is disgusting. It’s clear (and has been from around the middle of the offseason for those paying attention) that they were never serious about making a trade and the “cap space” excuse was to cover up for their aversion toward the repeater tax (something that’s been know for a while on Cranjis’s discord, becoming more public now). It’s also the reason why they didn’t have a trade prior to the season and have put out the 20 game “timeline” – they know the team is dogshit and so after the 20 games they can hide behind the terrible record and the self-created hole to justify inaction in such a way that fans will accept and peddle themselves (“no trade is going to move the needle”, etc.)

  3. Front office mouthpiece? Pretty specific and worded.

“Why do NBA fans never protest against the owners, it’s a really common thing in European Football plus they got a completely justifiable reason to do so.”

It’s time Lakers fans do something

So this team will end up with an embarrassing season again just to save money? That’s awful. Come on. Won’t even pick up another min? Maybe make a smaller trade? Something’s got to give, but it would be better to see it happen sooner.

I think the team would be better served by an investment group as owner at this point. This is so bad. Players will notice this too. Such a monumentally big mistake if short term savings are prioritized here.

Yeah this is concerning that it’s coming straight from Ham’s mouth, he’s not gonna be saying this from his mind or point of view, Jeanie or Rob clearly relayed this to him.

Jeanie got some different agendas and won’t prioritize winning or making deals if it interferes with them. Cheap ownership, terrible roster construction by Pelinka, and another disaster season inbound.

  7. TheWhisperingDeath

Treating the biggest and most famous franchise in basketball like some small market team is just sad, man.

  8. CiroccPapi

If the goal isnt’t to win which most of us speculated already, just come out and say something. Stop taking the fans for fools. Just shameful.

  9. prionzeta

They already gave up on the next few seasons. I understand they do not believe in this roster. But at least free AD to not waste his limited prime years. His value is not high but still he would bring 3 FRPs instantly.

What’s the point of owning a basketball team if your decision making is based off money?

Let alone the fact that you’re literally the Lakers, play in a market like Los Angeles and have two generational superstars

  11. yungzoowap

Lebron and Davis need to not play again this year

  12. EnergyFax

If i was bron I would just sit out the rest of the season once i break the scoring record.

  13. thevisitor

The ten episodes of Jeanie talking about her dad’s legacy in that docuseries is so asinine when contextualized by how poorly they’ve set up Darvin to succeed. Poor guys just relaying what he was probably told the moment he took on the job.

I hope he doesnt become a scapegoat for Jeanie and Rob’s BS. If he does he deserves so much better.

  14. AdministrativeDig845

I truly think the championship run lost the FO a ton of money. Keeping up with high operating costs without any playoff tickets or sales… Jeanie’s been pinching pennies ever since (she even applied for a PPP loan). I think she’s trying to win and be hella frugal and it’s clear that you can’t have it both ways

  15. Kanajeji

Why would a coach ever even comment anything like this? This is incredibly shady.

  16. Dabest0824

Don’t care, if AD and bron want it bad enough I’m sure they’ll push the front office for a trade. I remember reading pelinka and bron had a discussion before bron got extended for situations like this. I trust bron

  17. Dismal_Committee_696

The jeanie buss script. Aint never seen a coach gaf about a multi billion dollar revenue business spending money 😆😆😆😆

  18. Dismal_Committee_696

I really hope Lebron and AD sit out and protest Jeanie….saying you won’t go get talent after months of hopelessly scrambling to trade for it? You were willing to be a tax offender then but not now?? Or did you realize your side show Pelinka hasn’t done anything for 5 years. Something ain’t right something is wrong

  19. Jeanie is just west side Dolan, The fucking Cleveland Cavs spent more money yearly with LeBron than the fucking LOS ANGELES LAKERS are willing to. Fuck that

  20. Personal-Noise-8632

Damn bruh, we gettn banked by sorry the f*n jazz on a nightly bases, a team “they not who we thought they were” lol tbh jazz have alot of shooting, offense, scorers, floor spacing, and quickness on court at all times… they will run u out the gym

But this is an attest to jazz f/o and management 2 tho Danny Angie put a better team together tryn not 2 win boi boi boi

  21. Ok_Entrepreneur826

Honestly Lakers got 3 max players making 140 million. They should be better than 2-8. Time to get rid of some “max” players and make a good team

  22. ZestyItalian2

I mean these are just the facts. He’s not stating priorities especially.

  23. TheWonderfulLife

Well yea no shit. What the fuck is wrong with some of you fans? Do you not understand how money works? You’re out of contention, time to get out of the tax and start the rebuild. The Westbrook move didn’t work. No point in doubling down.

  24. Sell the fucking team if you can’t afford to pay the repeater tax

  25. HonkieBron

Sounds like he got invited to brunch with Jeanie, Rob and the Rambis’.
